Please take time during your protest to realize that there is another 11% of the population strongly behind you. Although we are here legally, to come and join your protests could cause us to be deported, so most will stay at home and hope you can change something.
For the first 150 years of this countries existence WE HAD the right to vote, a right that was lost after the 14th and 19th amendments. The old guys in charge were worried that if Legal Immigrants retained the vote in addition to all black people and women, there would be no way they could keep control.
So as the civil rights movement gained ground for some, it was stripped away from others just to keep the status quo. Although we may fight and die for this country, and we all pay Taxes here; we have no representation, and to protest that fact get's us thrown out.
2016 will be my earliest opportunity to vote and only if I am granted my citizenship by then. I will have been in the USA over 16 years at that point all of them legal and have filed taxes each time.
Please take a moment to include us in your democracy, at least in thought.

Please protect yourselves and your family. We know you always walk with us in Spirit.
same as always only way to protect is not to be involved. Wife and 4 kids, all born in the USA. That is why they took our vote, because they get to take our rights at the same time. Took my wife's rights too, if she wants to keep me in the country, she can't shout too loud either.
Families need to be protected and preserved and it is ridiculous that marriage isn't respected. I think it used to be that when you married a citizen you automatically had all the rights, yes?
Occupy your happy home in america:)
OWS organizers, you should take notice of this comment. He's right on - if an immigrant were to join your protest, especially if her/his status was unresolved, he would go from police custody to ICE custody. If this immigrant protester is a a parent of citizen-children or family members - where would this leave them?
Thank you for the information. We should make the Tea Party people aware of this awful injustice. They should be interested because the original tea party was exactly about this very same issue.
I drive a NYC taxi at night. At around 1:30 the time of the police attack I was at Courtlandt Street and Broadway. AS I live and breathe there were ICE (Immigration) cops with NYPD. I figured they were going to screen arrestees for deportation.
that sounds about right. They can not re-occupy if they aren't even in the country. How long before they start stripping protestors of their citizenship.lol
What was it Gaddafi called them," undesirable foreign elements" weren't they to blame for everything.
