Couldn't agree more! "MASS NON-COMPLIANCE" has to start soon, or we are DONE FOR! Non-compliance has always been the best weapon in protests throughout history. We need to start this NOW! Before someone gets hurt. Non-compliance is the safest and also the most effective form of protest.

If we had direct democracy veto power, the people could elect, say, Paul to POTUS, and then when he tries to declare war on Whothefuckknowsistan we can use our veto power to stop that action. This seems like a fair way to exercise our power over having to wait four years and hoping that TV ads and unlimited corporate money doesn't move too many zombie citizens to vote against their interests, or too many people aren't distracted by a wedge issue to vote out the warmonger. We'd get to vote in whoever would match up with most or our wants and then correct them when they do the one or two things that we don't want.

What's being discussed here is a change in the structure of government; and addressing the ISSUES independently, instead of relying on the PARTIES to guide us and to tell us what to think. Trying to fix a corrupt system; within that same corrupt system, is fruitless. Go here to learn more:

That would require armed revolution. The thing about our system is that if you have enough to be successful with a revolution then you have enough votes to change it by peaceful means. If you don't have enough support to take over a local and state political party you don't have enough to do much of anything. Look what Texas just did. They put decriminalization of marijuana on the state Democratic Party Platform.

NO - It would NOT require armed revolution. It would just require the majority of Americans to declare "ENOUGH" and to fire the present government and install a new one. If you read the plan, it explains HOW to get there WITHOUT violence!

I'm in my upper 50's and have waited all of my life for the system to start representing most Americans, while it's only gotten progressively worse. The corruption that runs through corporations into government; leaves us with the 1% being represented, and inequality at an all time high and things are coming to a head. Our congress is bought and paid for. Our civil rights are being stripped from us in a methodical fashion. Trying to work the system we have now, is like asking the Mafia to keep their gangsters under control. Ain't gonna happen. If you don't think war hasn't been declared on the middle class; I don't know where you've been. It's either time to stand up for yourself, or bow to your masters.

You were born when the last war on the middle class started. Or came of age, let's say. It all started with Reagan. We had just come out of a revolution period where the 1% broke the economy and the people took the country back. This should have been the next big one but we were a few votes short. This is a long war. Goes back to the dawn of civilization. The upper class is always fighting the Class War, but the lower class gets complacent until it gets out of hand. Pick your revolution. ;p

So you think people aren't dying because of the war on the middle class? The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are good examples. The middle class pays for them; fights them; and DIES in them while the 1% profits from them. Many other examples too. You must be in a good place if you can't see it.

A result of the "war" on language. The last declared war was WWII. Consider these words and how their meanings have been abused and changed. Liberal, entitled, socialism, communism, fascism. Consider what they call the War on Christmas, War on Religion, War on Terror, Culture War. I hear calls for math and science education but never any call for more government education

Five states (Alabama, Arizona, California, Idaho and New York) require students to take a senior year "capstone" civics or government course. Civic education advocates such as the Center for Civic Education see such capstone courses as a positive way to synthesize and strengthen students' civic lessons.

We used to get Civics course every few years starting in grade school. Who stopped that? I had the Issues/Education committee in Occupy Little Rock. It was and is still a huge job. Everyone is brainwashed by the propaganda to various degrees. The 1% throws out some anti-Obama thing and people tend to eat it up. Nothing seems to be quite as bad as Social Security. I had a guy running for State Senate, in my district, ask me to meet with him to explain Social Security. A Republican. Eeek. But you gotta love folks that know they are ignorant of something and are willing to learn.

First let me say that if you contend that this can't be done; you've already conceded defeat, and predetermined the outcome. We are not to expect to be translated from despotism to liberty in a feather-bed and it won't be easy..... but it will be worth it.

If we allow things to carry on as they have, we will simply get more of the same and it WILL get worse. You can't start a fire without a spark. An idea. A solution. Our goal is to spread the idea to as many people as we can; let them decide for themselves, and then move on and tell more people.

As far as the police, military, and other agencies; bear in mind that although they are employed by government, over and above that, they too are American citizens and are affected by the corruption that permeates our current system.
