Forum Post: protect and serve?

I thought the job of the police was to protect and serve the public's safety. Why so aggressive? Why fear the peaceful protesters? The police should be part of the solution and defend the peoples rights. They are the defenders of justice. They work for the people, not the politicians. Things seem to be turned around. This is a good time to remind them of their purpose. Maybe a sign that says Protect and serve please!!
