I'm curious as to what you all think might be a good use for the donations given to OWS so far. I'm looking for genuine good ideas that would allow them to use that money in a way that supports what OWS stands for.
My suggestion would be 1) Use what they need to purchase the resources they'll need to sustain the movement over the long term and 2) with what's left start "Robin Hooding" the money to folks/organizations that are in need; homeless shelters, folks who are threatened by foreclosure, food banks, urban agriculture or transition projects etc.
What are your ideas. Remember, please be non-biased. The point of this thread is to maybe spread some solid ideas.
To the OWS General Assembly, i would just like to say you are doing a great job. Remember to continue to let new ideas and systems emerge. Because society is looking at you and telling you that you have to do this thing or that thing with the money because it's what you're "supposed to do" does not mean you have to do it. Don't be afraid to come up with something new. The first step to creating a new way of being is to shed the vestments of the old.

Technology. Build virtual general assemblies. Create prototype eDemocracy. Show by doing. Create a leaderless self governing online presence with roots in the real world. Show the world what electronic direct democracy looks like.
I agree with this. Protesting has gotten the movement a LOT of attention, which is beyond good, but it's getting cold and it's time for action. Technology and freedom of information are what makes this movement win.

Honestly, I would tell people to stop donating. The best donation is for an individual to protest and spend their own money and resources doing it. That way it gets applied as they think it should. OWS has become too Marxist with it's general assemblies, crazy structure and kooky demands. This should be about the individuals grievances, not a collective delusion. Otherwise the movement is nothing but a glorified corporation.
Fund teach ins everywhere in what ever manner gets the most done for the dollar.

Invest in a place to act as a center for fuure thought leadership. One site http://www.occupyfarm.org just formed to do such this very thing.
As for libtard's comment, taxes are not due if expenses meet or exceed revenues.
OWS has no control of the money.
