Sorry. You can't endorse robbing Peter to pay Paul because Paul went through a bad stretch. If you violate property rights and put the government in charge of picking winners and losers sooner or later you end up where we are now - crony capitalism. The people with the most money will eventually manipulate the system so that it benefits them.
You can't have your cake and eat it too. Welcome to reality.
