Forum Post: Progressive Change

This content is user submitted and not an official statement

means nothing. It's a liberal version of the Tea Party's smaller government line. It's a distraction from substance, provided by the Move On pussies on this forum who are here to support Obama. MoveOn is now the liberal version of FreedumbWerks. The illusion of legitimacy is as real to MoveOn as it is to FreedumbWerks. The minute they use organisational practices to control even one conversation, they have become the corrupting influence Occupy is protesting. I will be using my family connection (you know what I'm talking about) to write a bipartisan article to be shared on behalf of the people declaring both organisations enemies of The People. Good Night.

Ummm.........you mean your Tea Party relative?

Mr. Gates, have you flipped your lid?

[-] -1 points by richardkentgates (3269) 12 years ago

Why? is it not obvious that there is a concerted effort to fill this forum with the same drivel that fills MSM? Meaningless distracting bullshit that even if solved does nothing to correct the income inequality that is at the core of the 99% slogan. If MoveOn is going to place party over people and act as a counter to FreedumbWerks, why should they be treated any differently. Hijacking the conversation is no more acceptable on the left than it is on the right. It is no more ok for the Koch Bros to purchase politicians than for Michael More to do so. You lead by setting the example, not by wallowing in the mud like pigs.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Why?

Because you have been posting some really weird shit, man. So, if you don't like the threads that are up then you make some threads worth joining into.

I am not trying to offend you but some of your threads are calling out specific people or one of the multiple IDs. Now, we are rolling into the second week after the election and a bunch of people are backing off that partisan shit. Let's focus on the issues.

[-] 3 points by FriendlyObserverB (1871) 12 years ago

Great point, I am glad all that election stuff is over. Let's get on with it !

[-] 0 points by Lloegr (-2) 12 years ago

I don't know. For me it appears as a Left/ Right/ Black/ White forum. This North against the South, right?

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Not always. Sometimes there is room to move. Even those that I agree with the mostest, I disagree with. Sometimes there are those that I am vehemently opposed to mostest that I agree with.

It's hard not to like you, Fri... ok, ok, banned for the sixth time! ;)

CYMRU!

[-] -2 points by richardkentgates (3269) 12 years ago

lol, right. Threads about the Fed, articles from financial service websites, and you have a music thread as well if I recall. But sure, ok. Financial news is weird. Bitching that we are talking about one company that is going bankrupt from causes unrelated to Occupy in any way? A conservative bashing post and two Twinkie posts over the last hour may be less "weird" but it isn't exactly relevant or groundbreaking. Root causes, alternatives to current financial mechanisms and campaign reform that actually has a chance to become law, would all be much more relevant. No? So yes, lets please do focus on the issues.

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

You don't like the twinkie posts? Exposing more mismanagement and the sell off of another company by the owner - leaving the workers to fall where ever they may. Is this not part of what we are protesting against? Greed? It's prevalence in society in Business and it's ruining of this country and the world.

[-] 2 points by Builder (4202) 12 years ago

Agreed. It's about greed.

I've seen some articles about this issue that focus totally upon the workers wanting more, and the unions being complicit in wanting the company to fold, without a single mention of the bonuses and pay rises of management prior to using their golden parachute to abandon ship.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Nor the fact that the company just emerged from another bankruptcy. No this is not their 1st trip to the rodeo. Try to get some financial information on the company history(?) - Hah - just the barest information available.

[-] 1 points by Builder (4202) 12 years ago

Austerity will be forced upon people.

If it can't be achieved without violence, then there are other options available.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

My time left on this ol marble is short - would like to see some positive growth for those who will still be here.

[-] 1 points by Builder (4202) 12 years ago

I'm guessing that with the increasing transparency of the fraudulent nature of our system of government, a violent revolution is what the puppet-masters really want.

The challenge will be, to remain non-violent, and to simply step off their merry-go-round, and retake the commons for all people to enjoy.

I hope you stick around to enjoy the changes, DKA. One way or t'other, we are on a slippery slope to change.

I've been reading various articles about Anon taking down thousands of Israeli websites and hacking into databases, in protest of the IDF invading Gaza.

It's hard to know who to believe, these days. I'm thinking that if it were all true, it would be in Israel's favour to deny the lot of it. The first casualty of war being the truth, of course.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

I have said this before and I will likely say it again - I have always believed the Bible. I do think we are gonna see a lot of shit go down yet this year. Where we are off to next year? I can hope for an awakened populace and action for a better world.

[-] 2 points by Builder (4202) 11 years ago

I'm in regular discussion with some very disgruntled military people from the US, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see troops simply turning back and downing their weapons. The whole fighting for honour/flag/country thing seems to be losing it's gloss. Not surprising really.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

No not surprising at all - when you figure that it was all a lie - that tends to really piss some people off.

[-] 2 points by Builder (4202) 11 years ago

From below; no doubt that PTSD is a huge issue with any contact-infantry war. I've read a few fact-based novels from a former SAS soldier, and he's the only one of his company that hasn't topped himself.

Just saying that the more people are made aware of the dangers of powdered DU, the less they want to be anywhere near it.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Yeah - fukin war is bullshit. Those that profit off of it? Unspeakable monsters.

[-] 1 points by Builder (4202) 11 years ago

The counter-argument is that all wars are political, so what's the difference?

What's really hurting the trust issue, is being lied to about depleted uranium ammunitions.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Depleted uranium - now who ever thought that that would be a good idea? But I don't think a lot of the military people are committing suicide over that - no - those people have seen all kinds of nasty things - and it was all for private interests - more or less.

[-] -1 points by richardkentgates (3269) 12 years ago

Right, and everyone has an opinion because they already watched it on MSNBC. Breathtaking. Is anyone attaching it to a preexisting Occupy group or action, is something Occupy related being started as a result? Is anyone doing something with it that MSM isn't going to string out for the next week? Is there something that can be learned from it that will effect future legislation, inspire new finical tools, uncover fundamental but repairable flaws in the existing economic system? Just asking. I mean these are the type of things posted early on when the form had users. Once it became intolerant of the Paul crowd, began recycling MSM bs, and people continued engaging the trolls, well.... But maybe that was the point.

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Ya, I started that music thread because at the time I wanted to reach through the screen and choke the shit out of a couple of people or, maybe, one person with multiple IDs. Maybe both. I wasn't going to let them have that.

The point is...............I think you need a beer and maybe some tunes. Don't let them win like that.

[-] -1 points by richardkentgates (3269) 12 years ago

Maybe it needs it's own thread. The relentless implication of personal shortcomings as a defense to an indefensible argument is tired. Wasting time on a movement forum to discuss feelgood nothingness that you could as well be discussing on the MSM boards they have, chasing people around you know are trolls just so you can call them trolls like cats chasing their tails. That is someone who needs a beer.

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

and possibly meds. It is tired. Then there is that give 'em enough rope thang.

See, I was thinking that once that whole election crap died down that we would get back to more of the threads that got a little deeper into some of the issues. I think we will hit it again. We just got to hang in there.

Just, don't give them bitches your mind.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

Where are we at?

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

laughing and fighting................I'm pretty sure.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Prolly.

Boy, it's really going to suck for them then, innit?

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Ahhh won't be so bad - set em up with some video games - they can devastate whole planetary systems. They can have a bib to catch their drool and everything.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

lol. I highly doubt it.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Yeah - that was kind of an ambitious thought - maybe start em out playing Pokemon - Hey? The drool bibs should work out ok.

[-] -1 points by richardkentgates (3269) 12 years ago

You're right. All I needed was a Disney moment, I feel better.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Ok. Have it your way, baby. I'm out.

[-] -2 points by richardkentgates (3269) 11 years ago

LMAO!

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

One way or the other-you are laughing.

[-] -2 points by richardkentgates (3269) 11 years ago

I'm also watching Scooby Doo with my boy. Strong language and staying on point is not about anger or being unhappy. Calling out what I see to be collusion and neglect is also not about emotions. I've had a rather pleasant day thank you.

[-] -1 points by Lloegr (-2) 12 years ago

Yea, or by banning people.

[-] 1 points by Coyote88 (-24) 12 years ago

Still promoting anarchism?
