The ONLY way to be a DEMOCRACY is to have PREFERENTIAL VOTING. It's the only way that your vote for a minor party can be done freely knowing it doesn't subtract from your preferred major party.
Why do we even have to vote for a party? People can easily be deceived when voting for a party they don't know that inevitably will get corrupted.
We need to vote for ideas, and not only vote, but also comment on them and give their objections.

I wish we could vote without being labeled as belonging to a party - Also, it's 2011 where is internet voting already?!!?!?
I get Jimbo's cynicism, but there's no good reason that shouldn't work. Of course, first one needs candidate's worth voting for, and for that to happen we need to get big money out of politics.
It's gonna take. . .a few weeks or more.
LOL. voting is not like betting the trifecta at Santa Anita. Our election workers are barely able to count normal votes, now you want them to be able to switch your vote if the first guy doesn't win? hahaha.
