Forum Post: Power to the people! New energy systems needed!

One of the important means of getting out of our current economic crisis is by literally providing more power to the people. We need better energy systems, and I'm not talking about Obama's green jobs. Solar and wind power will never be enough to replace fossil fuels, because they provide a smaller amount of energy using a greater amount of resources.

We need to solve the problems of nuclear power plants and base whole new industries on the new energy they would provide. For example, our country should have a complete system of magnetic levitation train routes. These are the trains that don't have wheels, and instead fly over the track on a magnetic cushion at 3 to 4 hundred miles an hour. Clean, efficient nuclear energy would power such a system.

Riding these trains could be a convenient alternative to the traffic jams which many commuters are plagued by today. We could also transform our uncompetitive auto manufacturing sector into making the components for the nuclear plants as well as the levitation trains, and provide good paying high tech jobs to millions of people.
