There have been a number of proposals for a new economic system to replace capitalism. Some are theorized to come about through spontaneous evolutionary processes as capitalism becomes obsolete, while others are proposed models to replace capitalism.

The most notable among them are here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-capitalism

What about Distributism, a system encouraging the widest possible distribution of the means of production, so that as many people as possible can be entrepreneurs. Small businesses that support one family are valued more highly than large corporations and large government bureaucracies.

A Gift Economy looks promising, a society where valuable goods and services are regularly given without any explicit agreement for immediate or future rewards.

Capitalism is not the problem. Every "ism" is corrupted by the overpowering self interest of the few you squash the masses into subversion. You are free to be in the parks because of the American laws. USE YOUR POWER! REGISTER AN VOTE! NEW leaders will arise within the system worldwide if you stay non-violent NOW>

Capitalism IS the problem, and has always been. Even religion is capitalism working for itself and with the elite to enslave others.

Money and power go hand in hand in capitalism and until they both become obsolete, we will keep on having some kind of revolution (like this). Either we want a capitalistic society or not. There is no such thing as a reformed capitalistic society because there will always be money and power, the very toxins of the capitalist society. Our politicians will only try to passify us during revolution but we'll still end-up in the same situation.

The viable form of society I support for a more permanent fix to our miseries is to go with the RBE (resource-based economy). The Venus project and Zeitgeist concepts are similar and are good. However I am not comfortable with the Venus propsal to have our government transition us to that system. It would be like feeding the project to the wolves. But perhaps we should sign a petition for RBE and have our selected coordinators oversee the transition with certain (or all) current government officials. The more people sign the petition, the better off we are.

Let's also try convincing our families and friends belonging to the 1% that this is the way to go to insure a better life for us and our future descendants.

Under the RBE, there will not be slavery and hunger; less crimes. Everyone is provided with a decent shelter, enough food, clothing, healthcare and education. Each of us can pursue our passion (instead of being tied to boring jobs to pay our creditors) that serves humanity. This may sound wishful thinking to some but having a moderated capitalist society is EVEN MORE challenging as we know now.

Capitalism is simply the observation of human action in an area free of coercion.

I don't believe we have human action free of coercion in our society today - do you?

Therefore it cannot be said that what we have is capitalism and something that is not cannot be the problem.
