Just curious as to what the 99% really is... How would you describe your general political philosophy?

Independent. I do not vote based on party, race, religion, or any other factors that people tend to pick a candidate based on. I research the hell out of every candidate, from as many sources as I can. Research what they are saying and what they want to do. Then I vote based on my research and by how many red flags they set off. I also watch speeches and debates like a hawk. So they I can look at candidates from a Social and Personality psychology point of view. Which is sad, because its the only way I can employ my degree in Psychology these days. Due to the fact that my skills are not in demand these days. Damn recession..grumble..grumble....
fragile
Progressive.
Reasonable.
Well in the system we're under, I would have to say I'm mostly Libertarian. I have really lost all faith in my government so I have no desire to pay into taxes without getting anything it return. At the moment, we are slowly losing both our wages and our freedoms so I would at least like to hold onto something. If the system were to magically have a massive restructuring, I would probably lean more left of center. We do have the ability to produce more than everyone could ever need, so there is no reason we shouldn't strive for more equality.
I'm a child of the world.
Ah, the philosophy of Children of the World ... Not familiar with that one ... Must google ...
I'd say I'm fairly liberal; I believe in social freedom (the right to privacy, the right to own a firearm for self-defense purposes, etc.) to the point where I align with the libertarians on gun control. However, I see large corporations as at least as likely to usurp personal liberty and create economic hardship as the government, and I believe in a fairly large and active government to act as a counterweight to corporate influence.
If we can agree that power corrupts, then I believe in the decentralization of power. I think we have yet to see an instance where great power wasn't abused, so I think it's best if we take a holistic approach. Sure, that means there might be more individual risk in the meantime, but I would rather something bad happen to me, and I pay for it, then something bad happen to me, and all of society pay for it.
It's basic logic.
Conservatives seek to conserve civilization
Liberals seek to expand civilization
Socialists seek to help people
Libertarians seek to help themselves
If I didn't have a brain, I would totally believe this.
Bitchy Centrist
the best person to help me is me
nobody knows more about me than me

Sheesh, tough customer ... Come on! You have a philosophy on life - we all do! Share it with us!
I don't "label" myself any one of those. If I was going to label myself anything, I suppose it would have to be "Independent". And I don't vote based on someone's label. What I do, is listen to the actual "message" or "the principles" that a candidate is standing on. Do they have a long voting record that reflects my own values? And, do I truly believe them when they say that they will "defend the Constitution" and fight for "Individual Liberty"? If so, I am likely to believe in them... and ultimately vote for them. What I will definitely NOT do is vote for someone based only on what political party they belong to. To me, this would allow a potentially irrelevant stereotyping to cloud my judgement.
