I've been getting emails from friends about an eviction notice for OWS at Liberty Square for tomorrow a.m. Would someone from OWS please let me know what's going on?
Also, although I believe in the continued Occupation of Wall Street for symbolic and inspirational purposes, won't someone donate a winter indoor gathering space that can accommodate 100s of people? (Gymnasium size in Lower Manhattan) That would be a good idea I think, to ensure the momentum keeps up . . .
Well they could use some of the $10000's given to them.. But then again, wouldn't camping out, out of sight in a gymnasium be kinda.. stupid?
I didn't suggest camping out in a gymnasium, I suggested an alternative space as a gathering point. But obviously, sudoname, you're pseudo all around. Learn how to spell.
sudo is a reference to "sudo" in linux, meaning "super user do".
I agree on continuing to gather. Are you suggesting a place to sleep or simply gather? There is the internet for gathering. But it doesn't have quite the same effect as a protest or in-person gathering.
It's important to keep our facts correct. From the US Treasury: "Overall, Treasury has received $313 billion in repayments and other income from its TARP investments – more than 76 percent of the $412 billion disbursed under the program to date."
Specifically for Goldman Sacks, from Foreign Policy Association (in 2009): "July 22 (Bloomberg) — Goldman Sachs Group Inc.’s repayments to the government of last year’s bailout money, including an agreement today to repay warrants, generated a 23 percent annualized return for U.S. taxpayers" So we the people made back the $10B lent to Goldman Sacks plus 23% interest. We will not win any thing if we are not scrupulous in our posts.
Sorry to derail you, but I was referring to paying rent at a gymnasium with OWS funds.
But yeah, goldman sachs owes us that and probably a lot more, plus interest and a punishment fee.
Thanks for the POC! But my point is that GSG paid back all $10B plus 23% in interest. They don't owe any more money.
I was thinking someone would just provide for me and my family for the rest of my life because I'm for the cause
