Forum Post: Please take the djembes and bongos home. It's cartoonish and belittles the movement.

Get serious. Smoking dope and playing djembe makes us all look ridiculous. Please let the grown ups handle this.
every single person should be welcome. peaceful protest for the rights of us all. and i know you didn't say "smoking dope". that is war on drugs talk my friend. also, djembe is by far the best hand drum around. you get a great bass response and the rim shot tones snap like snares.
have a song as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdB-8eLEW8g
I'm a professional musician who has performed with Youssou NDour and Baaba Maal. You don't need to educate me. I'm a weed smoker too. That doesn't have much to do with it actually. Anyway, it's serious business now and turning it into a concert is exactly what conservatives want us to do. Counter-productive. Stay on message.
Enjoy yourselves down there and ignore this idiot. Making Revolution needs music and laughter. Leave the serious looks and remote stares to the Tea Party and Ron Paul crowd. Were about life and life needs music, dance and joy. Smoke a little weed and drink some wine as well, its ok.
Like all the grown ups who dressed up in tri-cornered hats and powdered wigs during the Tea Party's initiation phase?
Yes.... but they should both be allowed and this is coming from a tea member myself.
I agree. I was just pointing out that people in any movement will do or wear outlandish things to bring attention to the cause. It doesn't mean it isn't a serious cause nor that it can't be taken seriously, and if someone chooses not to take it seriously because a handful of people have drums then they will simply miss out.
