So like many others I have become increasingly interested in this Occupy phenomena and I have read this site's "About" page the "Front" page, newspapers all over the country, internet news articles and I still don't know really what to think. I agree that corporate greed and our corrupt political system and government as well as the financial crisis in Europe is going to cause a potential global economic collapse. But answer me this, why have you OWS not put a more formal mission statement of your exact intentions and a list of requests or even demands and start going on a hunger strike. And if you have all of this money you supposedly now have why don't you lobby for support--use the system to your advantage. Your events seem to have so many factions and all over you seem to be so disorganized I think you may be losing ground on what you started You need to re-examine your collective true goal and work together to achieve it in harmony. And by the way weed out the criminals because the press is having a field day making you look bad with incidents that have occurred. Do these things and then maybe I will take a drink.
The best advice I can give you is to spend some time on some of the various OWS-related websites to get a feel for what's going on. I don't think anyone can explain it in a few sentences. Check 'themultitude.org' and 'occupyr.com' for example. You have to be careful on this site. Since its inception, it's been overrun with a lot of riff-raff and haters. You're liable to get a skewed impression. Don't make a snap judgement. And there's a reason they haven't made a formal list of proposals or elected a 'leader.' To elect a figurehead this early would give the opposition a target and the list is a work in progress. The problems in this country are numerous and complex. Don't want to move too quickly and make any big mistakes early on. Right now it's all about growing our numbers, filling our ranks. Hope this helps.
good points and I hope they do too
I am personally advocating 99% empowerment to restructure their debts without first being placed into default by the very powers that caused the economy to tank.
This one act could reverse our economy while empowering local economies without wall street's further intervention.
The choice isn't between kool-aids.
Obviously you find some similarities between yourself and OWS. You realize what's happening to our country, and I bet you hate it.
Here's your choice: Continue to sit quietly and watch OR Join the movement.

I have been tempted to go down to check out Occupy Boston but I'm afraid of the unsanitary conditions and crime. I do plan to make an informed vote come election day though.
I feel that the majority of the people opinionating in this site are only here to tear down the movement
It has been well stated by them that the OWS has not declared what they want (the opposition just knows it opposes, not why?)
My question to them is what are you afraid of? I have seen all kinds of imaginary (non -existent) villains be spoken against. I have seen the imaginary overthrow of our government spoken against. (yet nobody advocates any of the scenarios that are spoken against)
There is now talk about people defending themselves against OWS, yet there have been no threats to anybody from OWS
The bottom line
Not stating what the OWS wants is their biggest organizing tool. It is the fuel that is building the movement. It is revealing an opposition that will “make up things to be against”.
The collective opposition (some do know what it is about) is saying far more about their own imagined fear of the eventual success of OWS than anything else
Collective opposition against what exactly? Tell me the coordinated list of requests or demands of the Occupy movement please so I can better understand this chaos that I perceive this to be. Otherwise I do not wish to live in chaos.
Collective opposition against what exactly?
(My opinion) In general most people know what the major beef is: corruption and collusion of the major banks, global corporating,a the government.
At this stage they don't know what the solutions are. As the movement grows and gains leverage then demands will be made. If they make demands with no leverage it is over.
All but some radicals want to work with-in the framework of the constitution (my opinion)
