This content is user submitted and not an official statement

Occupy Boston has a court date on Dec. 1 with the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, the private non-profit which maintains Dewey Square. The land is still owned by the City of Boston. Putting aside for a moment the question of whether the non-profit has the standing to ask the Mayor to clear the square, we are approaching the members of the Board of the Conservancy and asking them to follow the example of the Oakland Deputy Mayor and the Oakland Legal Advisor, and to resign from the board in support of Occupy Boston. Please send them a copy of your favorite explanation of what Occupy Wall Street is and wants (since there is no single statement yet). Below is one suggestion:

David DeGraw (one of the founders of OWS,): "The Economic Elite vs. the People of the United States" http://ampedstatus.org/full-report-the-economic-elite-vs-the-people-of-the-united-states-of-america/

AP article:

"BOSTON — The nonprofit organization that oversees the site of the Occupy Boston encampment wants the protesters out.

The chairwoman of the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy’s board said in a Tuesday letter to Mayor Thomas Menino that demonstrators have prevented the general public from enjoying Dewey Square Park and forced the cancelation of other events scheduled for the site, including an Oct. 15 food festival." http://www.wbur.org/2011/11/18/occupy-boston-greenway

Note on above article: Dewey Square is an exhaust-fume-filled patch of land between two major Boston thoroughfares. No one takes their families there. It's a nice piece of urban greening-up but largely unused.

SUGGESTED APPEAL:

Appeal to Rose Kennedy Greenway Board members: ""In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility-I welcome it." - President John F. Kennedy.

Board members, Occupy Boston embodies the true spirit of President Kennedy's words. Please let them stay. The Deputy Mayor of Oakland as well as Oakland Mayor Quan's Legal Advisor have both resigned in support of Occupy Oakland, and in protest of the city's attempts to evict. Please consider taking such a step in support of Occupy Boston, which could well change the political dynamic."

Laurie great catch! Now, how does someone contact Caroline?

Is this the same Ed Schlossberg that is married to Caroline Kennedy? What is her stand on Occupy Boston? She should go on the record, since this is named for her relative.
