There is not a person on this planet, who, elected to any position in our current government, could make any kind of legitimate change. It is the system that needs to change, not the people who fill the positions. "But this is a democracy, it's your duty to vote." Oh this is a democracy? How did you vote on the last war? Economic and monetary institution run the world, not governments. Change WILL NOT come from within the current system, so don't waste your time voting. Or do, frankly it really doesn't matter. Government corruption, ecological destruction, poverty, recent economic collapses, and almost all crime are just inevitable outcomes of a flawed social system. Economies and banks are not failing because of specific policies or individuals, they are predictable outcomes of a flawed system. These failures are not new issues, they have always existed and been on the rise, and we are just starting to notice them.

Ban electronic voting in any form. paper ballots only. Open source software/firmware for the voting machines such as optical scanners.

I'm voting, but for none of the above. I'm voting No Confidence across the board. The vote harvesters polluting this forum, trying to hijack the Occupy movement, & not hearing the holy scripture of FUCK OFF have cemented that decision, along with the bribes the politicians are still taking.

Like anything else, if enough people support it, the more relevant and powerful it becomes. I was a big pessimist that anything like OWS could happen but, hey, here it is!!!!

Go for it!!!!!!!!

Yes, I agree. Neither Republicans nor Democrats have the best interests of the People and the Nation in their hearts and minds. All of them are out for themselves and their own selfish interests.

Petition has already been started relating to this.

But rather than be about not voting, it is a message as to why we aren't happy.

I signed that petition.

Warning to all: Their account creation is a frustrating circus of you jumping through a lot of flaming hoops. Whoever created that login mess there needs a boot to the head, or two. What an idiot!

I vow to listen to the candidate as an individual, and to vote for them based on their message. I vow to vote for a candidate based on the principles they stand on - regardless of the political party they attach themselves to.

Like that will help anything

So, are you suggesting that I do the opposite... and therefore "help something"?

Do you care to give a more articulated response? I hope that's not "beneath you".

Then the pubs will be a shoe in..If that matters to you

so you would prefer another 50 years of two party bullshit than take a chance at fixing the system? nice

[-] 1 points by gdnes (3) 13 years ago

alldeesx3 is right. the way to fix the system is to get everyone to vote. three party system won't help anything if each party doesn't represent the people. congressional terms should be shorter and have performance reviews by some weighted average of that person's constituents and their colleagues. if the review is low enough then some regulation should be imposed (impeachment may be too steep).
