Here is a People's Bill of Rights for Occupy Wall Street that would change the US world as we know it (for the better): (the "Objective")

  1. A Constitutional Amendment that says that "Corporations are not people and cannot have the same rights as people. In exchange for using people, corporations have to pay a flat tax”.
  2. A law that states that Corporations that have more than 50 employees and make more than 50% of their profits in the US, have to have their headquarters in the US.
  3. A constitutional amendment that states "No government representative or his/her staff can lobby for a period of 10 years after termination of employment".
  4. A constitutional amendment making child care, education through college (as long as qualified) and health care a birthright of all Americans.
  5. A declaration that "socialism" is social responsibility, not a danger or a declaration of war against capitalism.

You should study the suggested List of Grievances in the 99% Declaration and compare it to yours. You can comment on each one and/or suggest your own. The Declaration is happening, doing, acting. Why not get involved before it's too late?

I'm not sure about a strict flat tax - I'm not conversant with the arguments for or against.

I do believe the tax code needs revision - to make the tax structure of the U.S. competitive with other nations like Ireland; to ensure that we can pay down the debt, and most importantly

  • to make sure granma isn't forced to eat catfood so she can afford the rent
