PBS said fuel and food are not part of the inflation index because
of volatile price change
but I really see food go down in price
That does not help the needy much if their jobs had vanished through "Freedom of Trade" clamored for even by their former selves. Regardless of how cheap food gets, not having the money to buy it makes the price irrelevant. We have much rejected food turned away by other countries. Eat low and it is cheap. Our government also subsidizes cheap calorie foods. Maybe that is why the "elites" hate universal healthcare which will charge back the costs of obesity, diabetes, cancers, arthritis, strokes, etc. resulting from the excess calories.
Actually, cost of housing and enabling education are far more significant components of the cost of living for the strapped people than the cost of food.
