Forum Post: Pay very close attention to what the policeman in this video does when citizens rush to the aid of an injured person. THIS VIDEO SAYS IT ALL. There is a clear path to victory if we use forceful active non-violent tactics relentlessly.

This is scary. Watch what happens here. Tells you a lot about what the attitude of commanders is. Very short clip but says it all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZLyUK0t0vQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player
The way we win is by engaging in active NON-violent resistance. Non-violent tactics of King, Gandhi and Gene Sharp.
Non-violence is power. Dictators around the world have been brought down with Mr. Sharp's tactics and the ones who haven't criticize him openly out of fear. Col. Donald F Bletz of the Army War College said that Sharp's tactics should be a part of the nation's defense policy.
Read King and Gandhi's autobiography. See the film Gandhi and learn how powerful non-violent tactics really are.
We can win this. It is within our grasp if we adhere to strong active non-violent resistance.
That officer needs to feel some consequences for his actions. Those people were CLEARLY there to aid an injured person CLEARLY lying on the ground in distress (and god bless them for bringing that aid). That officer should be arrested and jailed for battery.
Totally agree. Hopefully there's a good enough camera shot of him.
THANK YOU for this, "therising", people like you give me hope that indeed WE SHALL OVERCOME - and the ONLY way we shall is through intelligent - and personally, I would add "prayerful" - non-violent action.
Of course, American television has never taught us this, but "NON-VIOLENCE IS POWER". You are absolutely right about that!!!
A short, toothless, bespectacled man dressed in a loincloth brought the BRITISH EMPIRE to its knees!
Here is a suggestion : Show the movie "Gandhi" and the best movies anddocumentaries about Dr. King at ALL of the Occupy locations. During the Civil Rights struggle of Sixties, people were TRAINED to become non-violent resisters. That sort of thing can't just be improvised!
Absolutely. It has to become second nature. Must be practiced so it's automatic even when emotions run high.
I'd also like to add that, despite the dire look of things at the moment, this should often be fun. I don't mean at this particular moment but at many moments. I learned this in person from Abbey Hoffman when I spent an evening playing pool with him, just him and I. He was his old self and laughed and laughed. Even in the Reagan 80's. He even shared a few of his favorite tactics. Great guy. And had a hell of a lotta fun.
Again, I heartily concur. In French, "amour" (love) and "humour" rhyme... and I think they should rhyme in our lives as well. SHALOM
Rockin roll :)
I agree, problem is that anger begets anger and that is all ows has shown so far
I completely disagree. The movement has been amazingly mom-violent despite being attacked.
30+% are just waiting for the opportunity.
Said the guy with the crystal ball :).
