You all have taken wall street by being on it's land.
What's next you ask. A boycott.
But it can't not happen while some use corporation brands that are holding 'wall street' strong.
Fact: Coca Cola made 68,734 MILLION Globally in the year 2009. Now the question is (which will be funny and not funny at the same time).
Which individuals are occupying wall street drinking this beverage?
Wow. You're the first person to make that "OWS is using corporate products" argument. Way to go.
In good faith, I'm scrapping this post. Wrong tack, and my apologies. I'll post again below.
In good faith I understood your action and practiced one as well (took my reply down).
I could say, 'hey I'm starting to boycott' so my first brand will be 'intel' which made 30,636 MILLION on 2009 (that's just 2009). But I can't just start with something that has value to me at the moment, I can't just smash my lap top, it's what's bringing me to open up to you all and discussion main issues.
So in conclusion 'intel' won't be on my top 50 brands. I will start with those that cause harm, those that have caused death.
mostly everything is made by corporations. While we can all fight at a personal level by being brand agnostic as social revolution, the current lack of availability of viable alteranatives makes this moot discussion.
The same token, all products are made by workers regardless of who slaps a logo on it. We are fighting for the same workers that make these goods. We acknolowedge system of exploitment precludes largely unbranded goods in certain circumstances.
So, lets rip off brand name labels when we can. We can do what we can to fight branding, and support the labor of our 99% brothers and sisters.
Again, not about economic leverage of which we won't be able to acheive with a boycott, and more social leverage that we don't buy into the advertising schemes and PR blitzkreig
mleon. I just posted a comment under my post. Is this what you mean? I have yet received a reply from you.
Take care.
I don't know what to say to your response, except my ideas don't fit on bumper stickers.
That's how much ideas you got? we should get to talking then.
mleon,
Thanks for taking time to write down a reply to this post.
I'm sorry, could you give me a statement with ten words describing what it is you're trying to say.
No harm by this. thanks.
I actually tend to agree. Coca Cola have a track record of exploiting its workers. Watch "Killer Coke" for free online to see how Coca-Cola hired militias to shoot the union leaders in South America that started protesting their crappy working conditions and paychecks.
I have done research already. But it was great for you to bring that up mimthefree.
One of the markets yesterday October 18th 2011 that had been warned on stock lowering included IBM as well. And IBM in the year 2009 made 60,211 MILLION Globally.
I was not in any way starting to blame those, but common sense, if you don't want shit, you shouldn't eat right.
Dude OWS are not against corporations that makes a profit. They are against corporations/banks that steals money from the people of America while at the same time bribing the politicians.
Ok. So does this make sense to you (pay attention):
If someone has a bank account and is entitled for a credit card and this individual pays for a cup of coffee at starbucks (while in the year 2009, starbucks made 3,263 Million) and on top of that... the cup of coffee is added with interest and the interest goes to banks and they (banks) have a stock that decides it's (the banks) future.
Does this make anything spark? Let me know, I got plenty more lessons.
Lessons with a smile.
If some did pay attention to stock yesterday 'coca cola' had a warning from the stock market to 'keep an eye' on stock. Due to it's lowered stock.
And Malboro made 19,010 MILLION Globally in the year 2009.
Question;
Which are smoking 'malboro' brands on the 'occupying wall street' events?
OWS is a media tool already, why not become a corporate tool or even a tool used by the banks as well?
I approve this message!
Daaaamn. Straight to the point.
