Forum Post: paper ballots everywhere

Posted 13 years ago on Nov. 1, 2011, 10:29 p.m. EST by deaner (24)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

The first priority should be to get paper ballots in ALL voting locations with plenty of space for "fair and speedy voting"

Deaner-

Not so, the OHIO system was not hacked. It was built from the start to be rigged.

Big Difference deaner, you arent trying to mislead anyone are you?

The court testimony of the person who wrote the rigged software is very explicit on this and what can be done to safeguard it. the video is here: http://uponlocal.com/up-on-local-media/content/stolen-why-you-want-direct-democracy-drupal

We have don all of that and are now asking for volunteers from every group as cosde checkers. All developemnt is done openly at Drupal.org.

The system takes issues, solutions, candidates. Each vote can be printed with a time stamp or emailed for records.

Deaner, if you are misinformed, or didnt know, ok..but if you are trying to mislead with your statements,. this group will see that.

Sorry for my poor choice of words. The website you recommend uses the same language in the title. My only point is that any electronic system has flaws and paper ballots are harder to tamper with. Not trying to mislead anyone.

we need to make voting and vote monitoring a national sport...if it were as interesting as these forums....it could work..

I suggest it would be...a real deal issue solution debate....people would be careful what they write...and intently serious..it would be great to see.

Imagine, a forum where the issue was voted on, and the President was expected to act on...or debate why not!

Sounds interesting, I'll have to ruminate on that for a while.

all electronic voting can be hacked, it happened in Ohio and it will keep happening until we get some changes

was not hacked, as in intruded from outside....

It was coded as a rigged system from when it was built.

Watch the court video 2004 Ohio Election on youtube

I think we're on the same page here. Better voting system, not expensive(don't want to hear the excuse "we can't afford a new system", able to physically recount, fair and speedy (nobody should have to wait more than 1/2 hour to vote.

No paper. Destroys trees. Please be environmentaly responsible and use up twinkles or down twinkles.

the paper doesn't have to be made from trees, but it does need to be countable with a permanent record. I'm talking about local, state and federal elections
