Chanting the same slogans at each other over and over, is considered winning? We have a unique oppurtunity to do something to secure a better future for our children. Yet it seems all we do is sit around making noise at each other in a contest of "Who is more edgy". I have yet to see a position that is actionable with a real chance of changing anything. It wont matter, 10 years from now, how much you cared. It will only matter if something was done to make things better. Try stepping away from emotional mental masturbation. Ask yourself,"What can really be done?". I asked myself that and decided to vote against every single Incumbent in 2012. Whoever the "chosen ones" are from either party, will not get my vote. Any constructive comments or ideas would be most welcome.
Well given that cities are stupid and are wasting money paying police men to threaten people with pepper spray they might just get their heads out of their collective asses and pass the damn reforms that need to be passed.
That's a big maybe though.
Unless a miracle happens, we're on a collision course with Peak Oil, Global Warming, Geometric World Population growth & the funny-money scams on Wall Street.
What do U think is the miracle that could save us from global catastrophe?
Well done; here's an idea: 1) Create Constitutional Renewable Energy Targets for each State; 2) Assert Our Sovereignty by Revoking Corporate Charters of corporations that assault us.
So your solution is for us to wait until 2012 to vote for some other bought asshole?
Everyone here should vote. Even if you believe both are awful, you must think one is more awful then the other.
See post calling for visual-python programmers. The Internet provides civilizations first real technology to create a truly new democratic society....
We can start GAs and occupations in every nook and cranny of American society. That certainly seems actionable to me and a lot more doable than voting out all incumbents. First of all there is not a GA in every CD, much less every legislative district or every community. Even where there are strong occupy movements they are rather puny compared to the electorate as a whole. So intervening in the electoral process at all isn't especially practical for the occupy movement at this stage of its development, because, among other things, all it would do is expose its weakness.
Beyond that there is the practical problem of getting an electoral program past the GAs, all of which tend to be skeptical of the electoral process if not downright hostile to it.

Get the people chanting slogans at each other to face congress and chant, "We need article 5 NOW!"
