This is indeed very important - and as the site says, it's not only useful for the deaf, but for everyone for searching. Plus, to be honest, I'm really, really reluctant to listen to video anyway, because it must take twenty times longer to listen to something than to scan through it by eye for the interesting bits.
That said, I didn't see any obvious way for people to get involved themselves, and I don't really like the site's format that much (long columns with huge amounts of white space broken up into multiple pages). If someone could get the notable speakers to official post unrestricted Creative Commons releases we could all work together to put the transcripts on en.wikisource.org, and post the videos to commons.wikimedia.org.
Naomi Klein videos and transcriptions are now up.

This is a very new site, though we will be giving people access to contribute shortly..
There will be a new section to the site, explaining how people can contribute documents to be added.
