Forum Post: OWS patriots deserving of the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE

The Nobel Peace Committee was ridiculed a few years ago - and for good reason - for awarding its prestigious prize to recently-elected - and completely untested - Barack Obama. A comedian likened the move to a bad case of "Swedish premature ejaculation"...

Could the Committee not redeem itself in the eyes of the world by awarding the next Peace prize to the OWS Patriots AS A MOVEMENT, as opposed to this or that particular organizer?

After all, this Movement is deeply committed to Gandhian and Kingian nonviolence and has been working extremely hard - and so far, VERY successfully - to effect profound PEACEFUL change and thus prevent a violent revolution in this country down the road. If such an achievement is not worthy of a Peace prize, I have to wonder what is...
