I believe that the idea of OWS is much more valuable than what is actually happening. It should be understood that the media is NOT your friend in this revolution as they were bought and paid for many years ago. It's important to combine the old school, non-violent approach with a systematic and organized plan. The Civil Rights Movement was refuted, people were attacked and killed, yet here I am - a black woman, working for a foreign company on American soil and voting in every election while having completed my education at schools with large majority populations. What needs to be made crystal clear is WHY you're fighting and WHO you are. Because the media has billed you to be something completely different and largely menacing by way of laziness, "hippy"-ness, etc. - and I know that's not what you're about. However, a prime gripe about many online (I read online a good amount during the day) is a lack of clear understanding about what the 99% really wants done. I get it. But apparently it's not very clear to a lot of others (ahem, the 53%).
I guess what I'm trying to say is... keep trying, go hard or go home. Don't be bullied - stay non-violent but don't seem so passive and flower-powerish (yes I know that's not a real word). It's 2011, not 1955. People want "specifics" before they jump on board and most people are clueless as to what is going on in the first place. You DO need people on board. The US government will be much harder to "occupy" than any other country in the world. We're a selfish bunch that believes in the god of "Me" and for OWS to circumvent that, a lot of sweat, tears and hopefully not blood, will need to be committed along with a well documented, easily to understand yet hard to mitigate plan.
