OWS is the most inspiring movement of my lifetime

Kudos to all of you working in the trenches to keep this movement alive and move it forward. Know that you have a ton of support. Know that you have morality on your side. Most of all: know that you are making a difference.

I can hardly remember what my life was like prior to late September. Like many, it took me a while to find out about you because of the media blackout. I used to spend my nights watching TV or playing video games to unwind at the end of yet another stressful and unsatisfying day of work. Now I spend all my free time reading, talking, thinking, strategizing about how to make the world we live in a more fair and equitable place. And you are the ones who have helped me get to this wonderful place.

So many conversations at my workplace center on OWS. Not all of them are positive or accepting, mind you. But they are discussing the movement and its central issues. This is such an improvement over pre-September.

We have a long road to travel to get to the world we want. There will be moments when we feel tired, frustrated, and even alienated from our fellow movement members. There will be those who try to distract us from our beautiful mission. But I am here to tell you with all the conviction of my heart that you have helped to guide us – as a nation and a planet – in the right direction. And for that you deserve my eternal gratitude.

It had to start somewhere. It had to start sometime.

I’m just glad I was here to see it.
