And that is great. But any change that is going to come out of this, will have to go through DC.

Either overthrow them, or replace them with your own people.

DC are the powerbrokers.

We may never be able to prove, through logic, that direct democracy, freedom and a society based on principles of human solidarity are possible. OWS is replacing DC system with a new system just like wikipedia did for encyclopedia.

"We can only demonstrate it through action. In parks and squares across America, people have begun to witness it as they have started to participate. Americans grow up being taught that freedom and democracy are our ultimate values, and that our love of freedom and democracy is what defines us as a people—even as, in subtle but constant ways, we’re taught that genuine freedom and democracy can never truly exist."

When you guys get serious about activating the occupy movement in the halls of congress let me know. All I've seen is a bunch of comments in the forum about how we should "occupy DC"... but nothing happens.

That sounds like a decent plan. It would be nice to see people vote for a canditdate that had something to offer, regardless of party

I would also like to see some of the current liers and decievers handed their walking papers.

how about taking out the corporate giants one by one without holding a protest sign.It can be done I know how

I want only ONE thing from all this...

I WANT MY GOVERNMENT BACK !

As log as we keep squabbling over our minor differences, we will become FACTIONS with NO POWER .... JUST the way the STATUS QUO wants !

Once we have an UNCORRUPTED Democracy, we can use it to settle our OTHER differences ! See http://occupywallst.org/forum/we-the-people-in-order-to-a-proposal/ for a proposal.

Kill the system of big banking and finance, it extorts us and doesn't support our economy at all. Inflation is great if youre the group who benefits from it. Its killing middle class america. Its killing all discretionary spending, thus killing small businesses and those who actually make something as well.

How about a re-election of all incumbents? I think it's a pretty fair deal. It means we can honestly vote in people that the majority want in the office, and gives a chance to people already in office who 'deserve' to be there to stay there.

I would love to see that, dont get me wrong I despise most of them too. But you guys have some seriously tainted meat in your ranks.

[-] 1 points by yasminec001 (584) 13 years ago

Yeah, it's cool. There's 'tainted meat' everywhere, even in all revolutionary movements. Humans are the way they are.

But, please don't let the individuals of the group kill what the group ideal wants.

And even if we're not all convinced on what we want, I think there's a reason that alot of us got angry enough to even form this movement.

If you truly feel there is nothing wrong, then given that feeling, create your life. But if you feel there is something wrong, then Be the change you desire.

You get a revolution every 4 years, blame the people.

Voting for D or R is supporting fascism

[-] 1 points by Redmist (212) from Yazd, Yazd 13 years ago

Ask a WWII combat veteran and I think he would say fascism is a tad exaggerated, I saw mass graves in Iraq with a bullet hole in every skull. What we have in the US are people that vote in a politician that will put cash int heir hands without earning it. "I will change the world" well here is my vote, and that never happens.

No one said fascism has to result in murders. In fact a strong police state is crucial to it.

I understand being a former leo I am biased, but I never seem to have problem with this police state.

We have jobs, thats not what were protesting. Were not protesting anyone just because their rich. Were protesting those who hijacked our govt, used it to support their private banks then profited off of a financial meltdown. Banks being backed up by the FDIC was meant to ensure that our money would be safe, instead it gave banksters a means to rob and extort their own banks, and leave the tax payers on the hook for the bill and to pick up the pieces.

Unfortuntately, these people are the few that are attempting to participate in moving out of fascism.
