There are serious management issues, clarity issues and overall strategy issues.
That being said, what are the majority of 40-50-60 year olds doing?
Nothing. They will simply go to the polls in 2012 and pull the lever for one side of the corrupted duopoly.
Thats freakin disgusting. Governing ourselves requires just a bit more, come on guys. Wtf?!
Speaking anecdotally, I work in a different house every day and, due to retired people being home during the day, I end up talking with a lot of older people during an install and many of them are really receptive to the whole idea of OWS. Granted, I'm in the northeast and maybe people here tend to be a bit more liberal than average, but it seems to me that older people are a huge untapped base of support. Bill Maher may think Occupy should canvass for a candidate, I say an aid-canvass (or some cleverer name (shouldn't be difficult)). Going door-to-door and offering help would be much better at advancing the future that I think OWS is fighting for. It's amazing how many people (again I'm thinking of older folks, but it's by no means exclusive) would be sincerely appreciative of changing a light bulb simply because they can't get up on a chair and do it themselves. This kind of outreach could be invaluable in defining OWS in the public eye and building support. It's a lot harder for someone to view occupiers as lazy, entitled, etc. troublemakers if they were next door last week helping out the neighbors. For Occupy to truly affect change it will take a broad coalition and directly improving people's quality of life, I think, is a great way to do that.
If there is any hope for ows, the truthers must be removed like the cancerous tumors they are.
Which is why... I myself ran for President. see---- > http://mosheh.org/
I will run again... maybe if I had support I could do something.

Good post.
There are plenty of people from every age group at occupy wall st look at the poll given of the OWS demographic. It's pretty spread out. Ain't there a seventy eight year old down there

I didn't know Christopher Hedges was 20. Man he must have partied hard when he was a teenager.
Im not saying it doesnt exist. Im just saying that I wish I saw more adults getting up and leading, outside of the usual polical processes.
Totally agree with you.
When you are 40-50-60 you have responsibility not brash optimism.
True, I get that.
We should have an option to vote for, None of the above!
Ha. Right!
They showed up to our protests in Omaha. Our older people, 40 and up, make up a large percentage of our protesters.
Here's a video of our protests http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNt-jJZvVpA
That is fantastic. I was just saying I wish I saw more of the ENTIRE population participating in the nation.
But i agree with you point. We have a large black and latino population in Omaha, and yet there were mainly whites in our protests. Diversity will strengthen our cause
I'm 47, work in a small local business, and the only vote I'm giving is No Confidence.
ur not speaking to Big Daddy that way, I voted for and talked up Ron Paul for years. 44 ;)
Nice. Didnt mean to come directly at you, the people Im talking about probably arent on this forum anyways ;)
