On The Wall Street Protests
The unfairness of the way things are has been pointed out with the protest. And it's admirable that it's a peaceful protest. (because infrastructure damage = more expenses for common people / for gov't. Moreover we don't want people hurt. Life is short and precious.)
Still, think of what such a big group of diverse skills can do, rather than just camping out,
sitting or marching around.
What can be a better use of time and manpower? Rent some affordable office space, find a NEED(there's lots of jobs to do out there without anyone to do them. Work is a part of life and never ends, if one is observant.) and work together to rebuild America.
Think of a NEED. Work to meet it.
example: Basic needs:
Food, shelter, spiritual/mental health
anyone in the neighborhood not having enough food? everyone work together to cultivate crops,
or be part of an efficient channel to bring fresh produce from farms to homes. working on preventing waste or excess.
shelter? - > find cheap housing for people and rebuild it together to make it livable
spiritual/mental health: where can we go to get sound advice / teachings? how do people keep America peaceful and worry-free?
Next tier needs:
work. salary. people want to work and have a salary solution: set up an employment center, job fairs. lots of people out there that need help. kids. elderly. big projects needing lots of people with skills.
people without skills Solution: training centers headed by experts / experienced people to educate others on currently relevant and needed skills
Upper tier needs like:
- environment, energy, art, aesthetics
e.g.:
forest fires left some places denuded? go together to plant trees, design green areas for urban places.
clean up ugly vandalism on walls. paint murals.
develop clean affordable energy. put in systems to deliver biomass to energy transforming facilities.
If people are joining OWS without expecting a salary, think of the good work that they can do for each other, for neighbors, for relatives.
Nothing is stopping us from doing meaningful work. The time to start is NOW. (Ask yourself where am i/we most needed? Who? What? When? Why? then start working towards it.)
the key now is to lead simple lives, and to want less things. (which is in fact a treasure in itself, many of us know the burden of wanting too much and having possessions that we don't really need or don't use that much)
re: the video on the link posted by Complex Missy:
let's keep yearning for truth. Sometimes though, it's right there in front of us.

thanks ComplexMissy,
i'll take a look at the video.
The protest should move in the front of the White House, if you want to be relevant, and get the right media coverage.
Guess who's got the most money in electoral campaign contribution from Wall Street in 2008? yep...your right...Mr. Barack Hussein Obama. Just follow this link: http://influenceexplorer.com/industry/securities-investment/0af3f418f426497e8bbf916bfc074ebc?cycle=-1
Occupy the front of the White House, and he will pay attention, while you will definitely get the media coverage this movement deserve.
Best wishes,
The Boogieman
