So many comments are focused on the necessary financial transparency and accountability for banks and Wall St. firms.
Why is no one demanding the same for OccupyWallStreet? This is the day of instant communication!
We should demand DAILY posting of contributions and expenditures! I would like to see who's donating, and understand their influence. Also, how is the money being spent?
OWS is not above the same demands that its constituents make.
When I checked last week they were asking for money orders, cash, and goods sent to a UPS store. There is no OWS organization, so there is no one to hold accountable.
I've posted this before - everybody loves a "grassroots" movement...no leader...like minds joining together...etc., etc. But to be effective even a grassroots movement has to become organized (we have seen the enemy, and he is us!).
Who is accepting the money orders and checks if there is no organization? Send them to me! I'll take care of them.
no checks since there is no organization - just money orders, cash, and goods, sent to a UPS store. I'm sure it works okay for them, but I was going to send a $100 check, but if there's not an organization, then...no...
Exactly, which is why what we most immediately need is a comprehensive strategy, and related candidate, that implements all our demands at the same time, and although I'm all in favor of taking down today's ineffective and inefficient Top 10% Management System of Business & Government, there's only one way to do it – by fighting bankers as bankers ourselves. Consequently, I have posted a 1-page Summary of the Strategic Legal Policies, Organizational Operating Structures, and Tactical Investment Procedures necessary to do this at:

if you want to be 1 of 100,000 people needed to support a Presidential Candidate – such as myself or another you'd like to draft – at AmericansElect.org in support of the above bank-focused platform.
Agreed.
I wld also like to see a tab of in-kind donations, since those often get to the heart (and stomach) of people.
We must be talking millions of dollars. Amazed that no one is flagging this, or that OWS did not respond to a similar post a day or two ago.
