Forum Post: OWS Exposes the Tea Party and the Right

This uprising has a simple message thus far, Wall Street and their bought and sold government are destroying our country. No one with a high scholl diploma would deny this, yet the right is already running a full court press to discredit the protests. Why?

Where is the Tea Party? Where is Ron Paul? Since there are no demands yet, just a general outcry that the system is broken and corrupted....why are they not on board?

The answer is simple, the right only cares about the billionaires and Wall Street, and the Tea Party members are merely unsuspecting puppets to this agenda.

Do not play into the establishment's divisive, black and white logic that keeps us all in conflict such that we cannot mount an effective revolution.

I am a Ron Paul supporter (and I was a tea partier before it was hijacked by neocons), and he has expressed support for OWS, concern about the militarization of police, and for returning sound money to the people:

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/185081-paul-offers-support-for-anti-fed-occupy-wall-street-protestors

Look, people on 'the right' care about poor people and the elderly just as much as 'the left' do. And one of my main reasons for supporting Ron Paul is that he is the only one who is running on a platform of stopping the wars.

The mainstream media is going to try to discredit us. This should not come as a surprise, since the same corporations running our government own these media outlets as well.

Name-calling certain groups in the 99% is not going to get us what we all want - the influence of corporations removed from our government process.

I backed off when I heard the unions and MoveOn were involved. To me they are part of the cog.

Apparently you haven't been reading this board. My posts have been the most popular for 2 days running.

If you would like to have a debate with a conservative, this puppet is ready. Be prepared to get frustrated.

Don't let mainstream media divide and conquer. #OWS is no more a MoveOn operation than the Tea Party was Republican.

Why this disinfo, OP?

RP was the first politician to come out in favor of #OWS and is the founder of the Tea Party. Infowars is going full steam behind exposing the private Federal Reserve (where Wall St goes for unlimited funds from the printing press when they are bankrupt that we as taxpayers have to ultimately bank roll)

I am a Ron Paul supporter... While we may disagree with the solutions, we can agree than the problems are there and our "two' partly system is a farce.

BUT... your movement is being transformed in to a Union / Democrat election campaign... DONT let that happen

The "system" isn't the problem.

The problem, lies with those that each of us who voted, placed into this system. And now its OUR job to either get them under control, or get them out. The two party system works fine when "the people" keep things in check. And that starts with being involved. Tracking legislation reveals a lot. Especially in this internet age. Information is easy to obtain, and tracking legislation is MUCH easier than it was years ago.

The point is, those who just turned a blind eye to Washington shenanigans are as much to blame for the current mess as anyone. As much as even the Wall Street banksters, Washington lobbyists, and the corporate owned media we chose to listen to for the past 30 years. These forces have systematically brought our economy to its knees, and we allowed it to happen.

If we really want this to get better, we shouldn't be spending all of our time here on a message board. We should be researching these two websites:

http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/legislative/b_three_sections_with_teasers/active_leg_page.htm and http://www.house.gov/legislative/

If people spent just 30 minutes each day after dinner, researching how our own individual representatives are voting on legislation (and what legislation they are or are not voting on), then we would all be better equipped to guide legislative change.

And just for the record, go have a look at how your saviour Ron Paul legislates. If he had his way, there'd be so many tax deductions added to the tax code, our government would barely be able to function, much less defend us in the event of a foreign invasion. See for yourself:

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/R?d112:FLD003:@1%28Rep+Paul+Ron%29:

Pay careful attention to this particular bill:

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c112:H.J.RES.50:

Educate yourself before jumping on some fast-talking congressman's bandwagon. The system is fine. The problem is the lack of sufficient public participation in the system we're supposed to have an active role in.

For it to work correctly and effectively, REQUIRES our active participation.

Don't let the unions take control and tell us what to do!!!!! They are going to come in and and think they are the "experts" on how to protest. We have enough "experts" telling America what to do. I say we protest them too! If you see a Union protestor and they tell you what to say or do, shout them down with "Union goons, need not apply"!

Libertarians believe that corporations should have total freedom, that's why they aren't getting on board. They don't want any government regulations at all
