Which is it? Do you want to tax the rich so much they are no longer rich? Do you want to make the tax system so progressive that people don't try and make money anymore?
Just Curious
No. We just want a less corrupt system that is not rigged from the start!
America will always be capitalist. That doesn't need to be a bad thing. Massive reform, but not communism. Communism loses us support.
Well one method would just bringing us out of the situation of extremism that we are in now -- so how about beginning with taxing the rich as much as we tax the middle and lower classes... so Warren Buffet doesn't pay a smaller tax rate than his secretary.
In terms of the economical system, I'd like to see a discussion happen. First, we need to restore the democracy so that the people can vote for politicians they actually believe in, and who actually represent the people's voice.
I could settle for less than a system overhaul which I'd really like to see -- but if I had it my way, I would design a system that rewards people for what they are able to contribute back to society. Rather than... rewarding them for what they are able to swindle out of society.
This means not a system in which we continually "advance" as a society but no one feels it, as the general population keeps its low standard of living -- low wages, few vacations, little options -- but a system in which one's invention or creation makes us all wealthy -- because we can enjoy it and share its wealth together.
