Forum Post: OWS Burlington, Vermont

. . . [On] November 10th at 2pm, Josh, a valued member of Occupy Burlington and the houseless community, took his own life at the encampment. We want to take this moment to offer our thoughts and condolences to Josh’s family, and to the members of the Occupy community who got to know Josh over the last two weeks.

The thoughts and prayers of everyone in the encampment are with his friends and family. We appreciate the support we have received from the Burlington community, the country, and the world. We ask for everyone’s continued support and solidarity as we deal with this tragedy.

Vigil was held this evening, Friday, November 11, in remembrance of Josh Pfenning, in the park outside the taped off area where this tragedy took place.

Later a GA was held, where it was determined the next GA will be in the park at 3 pm tomorrow. The civil disobedience camp-in has been suspended this evening, out of respect for the family and friends of Josh, and in deference to the ongoing investigation.

Let it be known and let all the world take note - we will deal with our sadness and our grief at this time of loss. And we will go on.
