I was down there 3 times. I spent money at local restaurants each time. Once was a Saturday when that part of town is usually dead, instead it is now jumping with activity on the weekend. In addition, I bought metrocards from the city that I normally wouldn't have bought.
The reporters and tourist looky-loos are undoubtedly spending money down there. What's the harm?
Stop the boo-hooing, this is New York where anything can and does happen 24 hours a day.
Obviously, this isn't about tourism. Bloomberg is part of the 1%. He is just setting the stage for the provocateurism that will be part and parcel of this down the road.
DON'T RIOT. That will give them the excuse they need to be violent, like in Greece.
The problem is we need showers, better hygiene and this miracle product which is called deodorant. You can't smell it, but trust me, those in the straight world can. No one wants to be around your organic stinky ass. Wash it.
What you don't know could fill a book.
More probably what both of us don't know could fill the library of congress. There is SO much to know and so little time. Do you know how to fly an SR-71 Blackbird and operate all of its systems? That right there is a book in its own right. Now just chew on that for a little bit.
