The time has come. The time has come for the people of the world to rise up and create a new world. A world where peace - an organic, living, breathing peace - is possible. A world where respect for each other and a reverence for all life - ALL life - including every living being and the planet itself - is an overriding principle.
Corporations are not people. Corporations need to be re-formulated so that profit is not the motive - the motive needs to be the betterment of the human condition.
We need education - we can't make momentous decisions from a place of ignorance. We need to carefully think about and understand things in order to make correct decisions. Our educational systems need to teach creative and critical thinking, and not the deadening acquisition of facts.
We need to abolish war. Humans have progressed so that we now have abolished slavery in most of the world, and most of the world give rights to women. We can further progress to the point where war is an unnecessary mechanism for solving human conflict. We have the technological capability to instantaneously communicate with the entire world. We now need the will to set up mechanisms for the peaceful resolution of conflict.
If we were to end war, and were to re-direct the money spent on armaments and the military, we would be able to solve seemingly unsolvable problems, such as hunger and poverty. If we re-directed those funds to peaceful solutions to our energy and environmental crises, would would be able to look forward to a healthy and prosperous future.
Power needs to be taken from the "merchants of death" - those who profit from things that cause misery for humankind.
And, the overarching principle needs to be the recognition of the oneness and sacredness of all life. We need to manifest the spirit of respect and reverence for all life, as outlined by Albert Schweitzer. His noble peace prize speech is here: http://www.nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/peace/laureates/1952/schweitzer-lecture.html
it won't happen as long as china wants Taiwan, the Arabic people want the fall of Israel, North Korea is still ruled the way it is, and central / south America is still held hostage by drug lords. Sorry, but your world is probably more than several hundred years into the future. Europe is post-modern, but nobody else is.
Ah, you see the world as it is, and say "why?", and I see the would as it could be and say "why not?"
The thing is: when you say "China wants Taiwan" - what does that mean, really. If you took a person in China, a mom, a factory worker, a teacher - and asked them if they "wanted" Taiwan - what would they say? "China" is not its people. We need people to people relationships. If you got a room full of mothers from all over the world to sit down and figure out the kind of world they wanted for their children, artificial distinctions between people - like "China" - "Israel" - "the United States" would melt away.
It means the present government of China is willing to bomb the poor island into submission in order to take back their run away province. However the snag in that proposition is another little country called America is in their way so they have to wait for the time being for America to get too weak. That will occur when the ultra left in this country has their way by closing their eyes, pretending war is obsolete, and dismantling our military.
