I believe with the current economic path we are headed towards destruction. An economy cannot be stable without a strong middle class. It is also unrealistic to think that the poor are going to do nothing about being worked to death. Our current economy is on the same path that led to the french and russian revolutions: a small population of rich controling most of the resources while a large population of poor and middle class workers are struggling. Those did not end well for anyone involved. lets chnage the course we are on before we end up in the same situation. This is not a marxist message, it is simply saying that we, the 99%, would like to have the same opportunities as the rich and a right to a life where we are not constantly choosing between food and bills.
You are correct, and this breakdown is much closer than you think. Here's a very ominous article from SHTFplan today... http://www.shtfplan.com/headline-news/economic-apocalypse-goes-mainstream-meltdown-in-two-to-three-weeks-it-will-spread-everywhere-most-serious-financial-crisis-ever-worse-than-great-depression_10072011
I fear this OWS effort is too little, too late - and we are so far behind in understanding the evil banking-and-state mechanisms behind what the current crisis that it will not make a difference.
I think we are a hair-breadth's away from a total police state designed to force us into austerity (witness Greece). Here, it will be worse though - we have even more ominous technology to oppress people.
