Forum Post: $$$ Out of Politics - Dylan Ratigan

Keep the Dylan Ratigan posts alive, folks - well worth a watch. This heartfelt tirade is all about getting the big money out of our political system. Corporations are NOT individuals, and do NOT deserve equal freedom of speech in our politics. The Supremes got that one wrong - very wrong. Yes, I couldn't agree more! See what you think of my post on this very thing: http://www.occupywallst.org/forum/our-1st-demand-needs-to-be/

Yes, agreed. My brother suggests that all political donations be legally required to be spent within 30 days of receipt or be forfeited to the general operating budget of the federal government. Not a bad idea - no one can bank these millions of dollars for massive spending in October - they spend it now or it's gone.

Yep, it's a nice touch, for sure. And as an addon to my post, it seems that if corporations don't spend a gazillion dollars on campaign contributions, maybe they'll have some money to hire some people, hmmm?!

Did The Supremes say that? Couldn't have been as big a hit as "Baby, where did our love go?"

Dumb joke. I agree entirely.

Bump!

I am praying that this movement focuses on a constitutional amendment banning money in politics as its main priority. It would be perfect for a mass movement that seems to hate getting involved in changing the system through our majoritarian electoral system (using the primaries of the two parties and grassroots retail politics).

Yeah, Amen.

Make it not worthwhile to buy the government. The role of governments are to ensure the safety of their people in their person and by extension their property. If the government isn't dolling out goodies, no corporation will want to buy it.

Just saw this and was about to post it.

Post it! Post it again and again so there's one up at all times! This is worth seeing and spreading - it was just over 80,000 views when I first checked it out. Now at 81,227 only 30 minutes later!

Hey, he annoys me too most of the time, but I sure agree with this particular rant!

[-] 1 points by tr289 (916) from Chicago, IL 13 years ago

It may be a rant but it is a genuine one. He does believe what he says in this video. This is something he has been saying for a while.

Rants and tirades are good! They come from deep in the soul. Bombasts are the bad ones, they come from some dark place in the dank recesses of the mind... just think Limbaugh or Beck. Brrr....

[-] 1 points by tr289 (916) from Chicago, IL 13 years ago

Please please please don't make me think of Rush or Beck. PLEASE !!! lol
