As I read once, Congress is no longer doing their job!

I apologize for that incomprehensible first statement. It should have read: "We get the representation we allow ourselves to have."
We get the representative we allow ourselves to happen. Regretably, for far too long, we have not taken an interest in what our government is doing. Even Eishenhower warnewd us, in 1960 -- fifty one years ago -- that this was coming and we all said "It can't happen here." or "Let someone else take care of it -- I have better things to do."
Freedom and democracy are natural rights, but they come with responsibilities; the responsibility to be informed; the responsibility to take an active role in their maintenance; the responsibility to supervise and discipline those we elect (hire) to do the work for us.
We as a nation have ignored those responsibilities and we are paying the price for it.
That's hindsight. Looking forward is the question "What do we do about it?" This is a first step, and a good one; but we need to decide where we are going from here, and what end we wish to see -- and how much we're willing to do to see tht vision become reality.
