In stead of brief news coverage of waving signs followed by talking heads, image the video coverage of demonstrators united – Singing together – this popular song! -----------slightly edited-------- If you have any doubts, watch the PBS Les Mis 25th anniversary special
DO YOU HEAR THE PEOPLE SING?
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of working men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!
Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
We must take our nation back
from the greedy millionaires
Then join in the fight
To restart our democracy
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of working men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!
Will you give all you can give
So that our people may advance
A nation of working men -
not the corporate elite
United we must stand
only together we can win!
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of working men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!
1st stanza is good
I want to rhyme tomorrow with echo
To restart our democracy
is a good line
I know this is not "international" and is "men" but these lyrics "do compute"
