Democraps are just as bad Repelicans, in fact they take more money from special interests.

The largest PAC for the past 7 years in a row is "ACT Blue" which supports Democrats.

All but one of the top 20 $penders support Democrats. http://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/list.php

The largest recipient of special interest $$$ in 2008 and 2012 is Barack Obama by a long shot!

[-] 1 points by mediaauditr (-88) 12 years ago

Thank god more people on here are discovering Open Secrets. Great reply Joe. I can't tell you how many times I've referenced OpenSecrets on here when replying to a post about how republicans are for the banks, for the rich, and the democrats are for the little guy, and hate the banks.

I simply reply, go to Opensecrets.org and see that Obama has received more money from Goldman Sachs than any politician.

[-] 0 points by jrhirsch (4714) from Sun City, CA 12 years ago

Romney's top contributor in 2012 is Goldman Sachs at $500,000 plus.

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Are you, now, defending the actions of ALEC or the Koch heads?

[-] 4 points by JoeTheFarmer (2654) 12 years ago

No I am not. Absolutely not. It is just that some here were saying that the Democraps are less influenced. They are all the same party.

[-] 1 points by GypsyKing (8708) 12 years ago

It seems Koch Industries wins the prize for the first full movement boycott by default. Count me in!!!

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8342) from Phoenix, AZ 12 years ago

Thank you, there is nothing wrong with making a conscious choice, some always call it censorship, when someone suggest that one use their wallet to express their choice, often it is the same people that at other times are the first to say your money is yours. I think if you choose to buy a product, to encourage better policy for all, that is substantially different than buying a politician to benefit yourself.

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Agreed.

[-] 0 points by DanielBarton (1345) 12 years ago

so we are boycotting them because the owns are republican?

[-] 0 points by LetsGetReal (1420) from Grants, NM 12 years ago

I think this is a very good target for a boycott. Included on the list of products:

Angel Soft toilet paper, Quilted Northern toilet paper, Soft 'n Gentle toilet paper,

Everyone uses toilet paper. Just don't buy those brands. The Koch brothers aren't worthy of wiping our asses anyway.

[-] 0 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

Great. The Koch's are enemies of democracy, which makes them enemies of America. They espouse oligarchy, which is a form of tyranny. The FBI should be all over these enemies of democracy.

Make sure you add the Dem sponsors too. Otherwise your just another hack for the duopoly....

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

What Dem "sponsors" work as hard to usurp the government as those of Koch sponsorship?

I don't hear of any talking about throwing $100,000,000, MORE money at a state, to institute ALEC style government.

[-] 3 points by JoeTheFarmer (2654) 12 years ago

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

Which of course answers a question I didn't ask.

Let me rephrase...... Where is the democratic equivalent to ALEC?

[-] -1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

If you think the guys who actually manipulate it can be found in some chart, you are a moron.

Its been screwing the public for decades, both parties. Only hacks take sides on this one.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

I didn't think you could name one, mainly because there isn't one.

Only hacks don't understand what happened, and what is happening.

Only a moron would think there is no difference between the parties, when obviously, there are..

[-] 2 points by JoeTheFarmer (2654) 12 years ago

Actually the largest PAC for the past 7 years in a row is "ACT Blue" which supports Democrats.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

You're repeating yourself.

ALEC isn't a PAC. They write legislation for (R)epelican'ts, because they can't be trusted to write it themselves.

http://alecexposed.org/wiki/ALEC_Exposed

[-] 2 points by JoeTheFarmer (2654) 12 years ago

I did not say or imply that ALEC is a good thing.

I am repeating because several people said the same thing. Several people implied that Democraps were less influenced than Repelicans. They are the same party.

They are influenced by money, Act Blue, NEA, AT&T, Naional Assn of Realtors, Goldman Sachs, General Electric, American Hospital Assn, Pharmaceutical Rsrch & Mfrs of America, AARP, Northrop Grumman are all spending hundred$ of million$

These groups give to both parties. Let's not pretend.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

I'm not pretending, you are.

I asked to name the Democratic equivalent of ALEC.

You didn't, you just changed subjects.

http://alecwatch.org/

Would you like me to go further in pointing out the malfeasance of the Kochs?

There is NO Democratic equivalent.

[-] 2 points by JoeTheFarmer (2654) 12 years ago

I am telling you that there are many influences and they influence both sides of the aisle.

Some of the more progressive groups The Progressive Policy Institute, The Center for American Progress, Americans for Democratic Action.

The single largest influence peddler is the National Education Association NEA who has outspent all the rest.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

That's still not an equivalent to ALEC, who's main purpose is to write legislation for (R)epelican'ts.

So, you admit you can't answer the question.

[-] 1 points by JoeTheFarmer (2654) 12 years ago

You are telling me you don't think the groups I mentioned below are not writing legislation? You really think ALEC only works with repelicans? These groups will work with whoever is in power.

The hospitals, pahramas, and testing labs pretty much wrote the Health Care Act.

Pharmaceutical Rsrch & Mfrs of America pretty much wrote H.R. 1249

Influence peddling knows no party. They swing both ways

Wake Up!

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

I'm telling you that you couldn't come up with the Democratic equivalent of ALEC.

I was correct, you couldn't

WAKE UP!!!!

[-] 1 points by JoeTheFarmer (2654) 12 years ago

if you would like to do some more research you can look up

  1. Raben Group
  2. Podesta Group
  3. People for the American Way
  4. Center for American Progress Action Fund
  5. The National Coalition on Health Care

These groups have influenced buckets of legislation created by democrats including the largest most sweeping legislation in decades the Healthcare Act which favors pharmaceutical corps, hospitals, and testing labs.

[-] 0 points by JoeTheFarmer (2654) 12 years ago

I came up with three.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

Once again, not really.

These are just lobbies and advocacy groups. In fact they promote normal citizens rights and support voters rights.

They promote democracy.

ALEC writes (R)epelican't legislation, for the corporate citizens.

They promote plutocracy.

I prefer the former and you prefer the latter.

I guess that's the difference between you and me.

[-] 0 points by JoeTheFarmer (2654) 12 years ago

I did not say I prefer either in fact I made it a point to say that. They all have an agenda. They are all out for their own interest. You just think that because one is for healthcare, pensions, or defense that they are for "the people" The fact is that that 70% of the federal budget is spent on healthcare, pensions, and defense.

These groups helped write legislation and that is what we are talking about, Some submitted whole sections to the 2,300 page Health Care Act. Why so they can make more money.

There is only a reason they spend tens of millions in Washington. They do it so they can make hundreds of millions. For example my father used to give a drop of blood for his monthly test and now with Obamacare he has to give a test tube and it gets sent to Medilab. The cost went from $10 to $240 but it is covered. His doctor said a drop is ll you need bu to be covered under the new system you have to do it this way. Other tests that were done in the office have to be done in the Hospital at 5 time s the cost. Also, they switched him from generic drugs to expensive name brand drugs (but they are covered)

Let's not pretend that it is all "voter rights" and "the people". There is big money (hundreds of billions) involved.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

hchc does the same thing he always does. Defends the Koch suckers.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

Hacks are, as hacks do.

However calling for an even more controlling plutocracy is asinine, or the result of a twisted mind.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Obvious troll is obvious.

Never addresses any issues. Never.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

Deflect, distract and dissuade, but never give a clear answer.....sounds like a liberta(R)ian, but not as clever.

No worries, I have start dinner soon.

Aita pe'ape'a

You can look that up, It's Tahitian.

[-] -2 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

I dont defend them. They are part of the problem- the ability to manipualte minds throught the tv.

You defend wars in Afghan and Libya, Pakistan and Yemen. Somolia and Uganda.

Shameful. Real activists for peace puke at hacks like you.

Which occupation do you go to? Oh wait..... (cue attack instead of answering question- the typical political response)

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

You defend them with everything you have. And it is almost funny. Almost.

You say the same shit over and over again. None of it is true. You're just a paid for Koch sucker.

[-] -1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Oh, you of little faith. :D

[-] -1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

^point proven yet again. Im arguing with people who have never been to the game, about the game......

The public is getting tired of people like you Girlfriday, always vouching for the establisment, following a bought media, playing their games.

And most importanly, making it almost impossible for real changers to get anything done.

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Actually it works like this:

What is hchc?

It is an advertising business. Really........your in the propaganda business. All of your posts are geared to not voting or writing in a name or if people focus on the issues then it is really divisive.

The jig is up. So save your bullshit for somebody who is buying.

[-] -1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

"independent"....if you mean warmongering endorser, then yes..

[-] -1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Quit your god damned right wing hissy-fit crying. Save your bullshit for someone who is buying. Literally.

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

^too dumb to understand anything outside D vs R.

^ very typical of America 2012.

[-] -1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

Propoagand that is geared towards indies, not establishment. Which is why you are having such a hard time wrapping your small brain around what I post.

And you STILL REFUSE to answer the question. Which means....by defualt....you have never been to a GA.

Which is fine. Keep fighting the good fight. But dont act like Im not welcome by thinking for myself. That, in and of itself, goes exactly against what this is about.

If you have ever been, you would see, but you havent, so Im not suprised.

Keep exlporing, you will come to some interesting conclusions eventually.

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Yeah..............sure.

You are hired to spread propaganda. It's your job.

You're done.

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

Im not hired. I just do. Because thats what I do.

Look, Im not going to ever get you to understand (not agree) with me, because you've already made up your mind.

I find it really really funny you think Im a "koch whore" or whatever, but in reality its really said. Its very telling in this culture where the people only attack, thats it.

No discussion, no expansion, just attacks. From people who have never even fuckin been, for crying out loud!

We all know you get on here and spit Dem talking points, attacking the typical targets, the cliches. I saw it in November, guess you are still wired like that.

Keep whining on the internet and then go pull a lever on Nov 5th. Thats all we expect out of people like you. Lame attacks. No activism.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

You had every opportunity to stick with the issues.

You know I'm a registered Independent. You know why I vote the way I do. So, don't play that victim shit with me. You are hired to spread propaganda. But, you never address the actual trolls. Why is that? Huh?

I know why and so does everyone else. Adios.

[-] -3 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

(que attack without answer question)....

Which GA's you been to?

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

I address you, and plenty here think you are a troll, the independents anyways.

I dont waste my time with the republican trolls, because its not a Republican themed site. Debate is good. It should be encouraged.

"REgistered indie" means nothing to me unless you vote for indies. Otherwise its just lipstick on a fat disgusting pig.

[-] -1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

And people who own advertising agencies that spread political propaganda are just fat disgusting evil pigs from hell.

Gee, I feel better. Don't you?

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

Haha, another rash generalization.

God forbid someone spread something that isnt pro establishment.

Hop in a time warp, and go run with the Dems in 2024. Its where you are going anyways, got to get it done with sooner or later.

No GA. Nothing to show. Just interent bullshit. Go run for office.

"Hitgirl"...like you roll on your own or something...

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

It isn't rash. It's your job description.

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

Keep playing their game. The two of you can have a good time defending war criminals while the country goes down the tubes.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

What war? If Bush would have been tried and convicted, this whole thing would have moot. Somehow I've never heard you call for an indictment.

Never heard the slightest hint of your understanding of what Bush did.

Oh, but you're down on the dems for inheriting it.

Settling down what Bush started isn't as easy as pulling the plug.

Although you did manage to change the subject.

Now, tell what dem sponsored entity is tryng as hard as the Kochs to usurp democracy.

[-] -1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

Well, I campaigned my ass off for Obama because of the very wars I was protesting.

You act like you know me.

You're another hack that a growing majority of the population is starting to get really fed up with. Blind loyalty.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

Get out there and do it again, or you're stuck with Romney or Santorum.

If that sounds at all good to you, then you are the hack.

Obama NEVER claimed to be dove. NEVER.

So who's lying now?

[-] 2 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 12 years ago

than I will never vote for Obama

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

Dove?

What youtube clip would you like to see?

Some of us are through playing lesser of two evils. Settling for getting fucked 10 times by one guy, or only 8 by another.

Let me know what you mean by dove?

Quote’n Nader the traitor

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

Why would you call him that? For attempting to give the public choices that arent establishment warmongers?

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8342) from Phoenix, AZ 12 years ago

No for going all over the country telling a lie. The man made his name telling truth to power but when he wanted power he told lies like they all do Taritor! If Nader had taken the same position in the 60's that he took in 2000 he would have said, "the convair has a motor and four tires, as does the VW there's no difference between them" and we would have never heard of him.

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8342) from Phoenix, AZ 12 years ago

You know telling a few lies for the greater good is how they all get started.

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8342) from Phoenix, AZ 12 years ago

You see in my opinion those who lie to infulence public publicy, commit treason.

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Of course you zoom right in to defend the Koch heads.

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

Im not defending them. they are useless pods. Its too bad politicians are so quick to screw the people who vote for them, in favor of some cash ....

But you are the one who is attacking them.

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

Grow up.

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

Spoken like a true internet hack who doesnt really know anyone.

Last we talked, you couldnt name a few GA's you;ve been to.

HAs that changed? Or are you still just an internet whiner?

PS- if you have ever been to one, you find a few libertarians there...but you wouldnt konw anything about that, would you?

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago
