Simply stated, our top priority, our one goal held above all others should be to have all publicly elected officials all representatives sign a pledge to no longer accept corporate campaign contributions, or individual contributions above a certain amount.

That's it, it's simple, it's elegant, it doesn't have to go through the long drawn out process of being signed into law or challenged by the supreme court. Sign the pledge or you won't be voted for.

AND.... Read the 'Petition' the OWS is circulating at the Camps for them to Sign on Line... as it is ANOTHER COHESIVE informed message to Send To Congress , the HILL, The SEC, the DOJ.. and the White House.. http://www.thepetitionsite.com/8/stop-the-corruption-on-wall-street/

That is the Message we All can get behind..

Several reasons: 1) We are not a unified movement and thus would be unable to agree on a single goal. This is a feature not a bug. 2) There is more than one thing to fix!

The point is that our strength lies not in our ability to make demands but our ability to come up with the best demands and the best ways of fulfilling them!

United we stand divided we fall, if you don't come up with something everyone can agree on, something to focus on; then you will soon be ignored.

It doesn't matter if we succeed if all we accomplish is replacing the capitalists with a vanguard government. The point is, we can not afford the level of hierarchy required to set such goals without developing a vanguard party which will end up taking over the movement and which will lead to a dictatorship. Internal strife make weaken us against the industrialists but it keeps us free!

There is hope that we will erode the system simply by defying its rule long enough so that a sufficiently anarchistic (that is controlled from the bottom) means of organization has time to take shape. Even within our movement right now there is definite law and order. There is exchange and commerce, if limited. I believe that this can grow with time but we CAN NOT allow ourselves to organize top-down or we will most surely become slaves to the state!
