One demand, a single act of Congress: Revert all corporate and banking laws, and all Supreme Court rulings affecting corporation and banking finance practices--except anti-corruption and civil rights laws--since, say…year nineteen-sixty-five. The United States of America was the envy of the World from about nineteen-forty until the mid sixties. Unemployment and inflation were low, and production, wages, and benefits were up; social security and distribution of wealth were sustainable; the working classes were united in building everything bigger, better, and faster; corporate executives were paid to ensure products were competitive on the free markets, and to ensure a good public image was maintained. Many large families were supported by a single workers income. The laws, and the system may have been less than perfect—but they worked well for a quarter of a century, and might have continued working if the rules and regulations had not changed (obviously for the worse). So, why not go back to what worked for twenty-five years after the last great financial meltdown? Congress doesn’t have to write new laws, just reinstate old laws. There doesn’t have to be any partisan bickering, all laws and rulings revert regardless of which party claimed victory for the change. No one has to go to jail, the blow to the oligarchy egos’ and pocket books should suffice. And Executive and Congressional incumbents might get to keep some of their jobs…if they showed they could work together to do their jobs of leading this country back to more prosperous times. The laws will change again for sure in time, but there will be an opportunity to learn from past failures next round. One sweeping Occupy America Bill, an Act of Congress signed by the President and everyone can go home, and back to work or look for a job, or just make do. At least something big would get accomplished to give the ninety-nine percent hope.
how bout this=do there dam job and not vote what they think the constitution says and do what is really says. WORD FOR WORD, Thats what ron paul has done in congress for 30 years
I would love it if Ron Paul would champion the next bill that addresses the OWS concerns of government being corrupted by the wealth of the one percent. If nothing changes Ron Paul will get my vote a second time just because of his willingness to cross party lines for ethical reasons.
