I recommend sanctions on US weapons exports

[-] 2 points by elf3 (4203) 9 years ago

Isn't China making our weapons now?

[-] 1 points by MattHolck0 (3867) 9 years ago

wasn't china making digital chips before us ?

[-] 2 points by elf3 (4203) 9 years ago

The kind that will eventually be inserted into our wrists for tracking and identifying our credit worthiness and individual preferences and also records our conversations for use in private marketing or thwarting activism, or, the regular kind of digital chips?

turns out communication travels locally first and therefore it is not centrally controlled

I recommend VOTING!!

[-] 6 points by Rollo (60) 9 years ago

Give me a break! Don't come on here (of all places), with this ridiculous "I recommend voting!!" cheap fix bullshit. With Big money dominating our political system, lockstep with the corporate controlled 'Free Press', and the 1% sycophantic judicial system, we're NOT voting our way out of this mess. IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!! Our political system is way, WAY too damaged to vote ourselves out of this mess. We must fix those things and more before Voting stops being a farce. We need to do much more than vote!

Our system needs a complete overhaul. It's like a car engine that is on it's last leg. The piston rings are shot, we've got blowby. The main bearings are knocking. There's massive oil leaking past the valve seals and gaskets. Clouds of blue smoke is coming out the tailpipes. When things have gotten that bad, you need to completely rebuild your engine. It's too far gone to say: "Hey! Let's change the oil !!"

When a system is operating well, Voting is great, and changing the oil is great. When things get very bad those great things become useless. It's too late for easy fixes. And so it is with this "I recommend voting" easy fix BS.

It's time for the 99% to rebuild this smoking tub of crap !!

BRAVO!!!!

You can't see it, but I'm applauding!

Hell Yeah!!

[-] 1 points by WSmith (2698) from Cornelius, OR 9 years ago

"Of all places?" I hope your recovery includes an apology and retraction.

Did you have an idea or promote a new alternative to participating in our democratic political system? All I hear is surrender, democracy is futile, GIVE UP, the 1% is insurmountable!

NO!

But Bernie Sanders is running.

Not voting for one of the two parties who brought us here is not equivalent to "GIV[ING] UP."

[-] -1 points by factsrfun (8342) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

Anything that allows the GOP to win is stupid, even it's not giving up

[-] 3 points by mdonelly (324) from Mineola, NY 9 years ago

That might be true, if it were not for the fact that both parties have been responsible for our demise.

[-] 2 points by factsrfun (8342) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

If you are looking for perfection, you won't find it anywhere, but if you are stupid enough to let the GOP win, you get what you deserve.

[-] 2 points by mdonelly (324) from Mineola, NY 9 years ago

The systemic change we need always happens from the bottom up. That's why activism has been reborn.

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8342) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

systemic change begins with opening of the eyes, people who do not see the evil of the GOP are blind as a bat, people like Nader that gave us W Bush, this third party bullshit has trapped us in the system for decades we must break out and the path is clear, Kill the GOP

[-] 0 points by mdonelly (324) from Mineola, NY 9 years ago

"systemic change begins with..... [blah... blah... blah], KILL the GOP" And lets vote us in some more Democrats, right?!

What about when the Democrats held the Presidency, and majorities in both Houses of Congress? I don't remember anything earth shattering happening then. In fairness though, they were busy little beavers with their bombing campaigns and bailing out their banker friends, while people suffered.

You should take a look at the 1993 Omnibus bill and what it led to.

Yes it is a ladder of power remove one leg and the whole system falls.

(Throwing votes into the trash can is what we been doing for decades and the 1% are laughing their asses off at us.)

[-] 2 points by turbocharger (1756) 9 years ago

Ah yes, the omnibus bill. Great work. Totally makes up for the legislation that took all the jobs and offshored em.

Great example.

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8342) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

Like other conservatives you mistakenly think the problem is jobs, when it is wages. There are plenty willing to buy your life cheap.

Could you tell me again why you are so upset about all this government spending?

12th track: (Hiding in plain sight)

All it requires - is - enough expressed vitriol for the system in general - and many will believe you mean it - while one need not provide any supporting substance.

You know what they say about growing old, that's a lot like voting the only thing worst is not voting.

I haven't seen anyone suggest voting is enough but those that come here and pretend that that voting as to minimize to the extent possible the power of money on social policy is anything less than absolutely critical are either fools or worst here to co-opt OWS to kickstart their own ego driven political party.

[-] 1 points by MattHolck0 (3867) 9 years ago

use your voice not secret ballot

[-] 1 points by factsrfun (8342) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

you may be right, might be best to just let the 1% decide

[-] 1 points by MattHolck0 (3867) 9 years ago

that's why we let 1% believe that they have control of the imaginary money

[-] 3 points by factsrfun (8342) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

it's nice of us to let them live in those big imaginary houses too, but you know the damn things look real....

[-] 2 points by turbocharger (1756) 9 years ago

The entire group clapping like seals just shows more duopoly.

Can you imagine what Cons & 1%-owned MSM (not to mention RW hate radio & Fox Lies) would do if a DEM congress invited Arafat during the Bush-Cheney regime??? MARSHAL LAW!!

[-] -2 points by factsrfun (8342) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

Look man it's like any other thing, you got to do it every day and do the best you can I've been calling them on their shit and kicking their asss for about four years here, ego whores like the Greens will never disappear, all you can do is what anyone can do just keep telling the truth. Of course I never engage in their missha I just ask How is the GOP better? or if not how do we acft to prevent the GOP from winning? or explain why is it OK for the GOP to win? "flip" actually admitted he helps elect the GOP because he think's it will get more people pissed off and help build the Green Party, so he admits he is willing to hurt America for the sake of the Greens, of course once I pointed out what he had said he tried to pull back from it, by running away.
