Posted 13 years ago on Nov. 3, 2011, 3 a.m. EST by Diplomacy4Evry1 (123)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

This is a petition to the government to REVOKE the status of PERSONS from CORPORATIONS.

Please feel free to leave your comments and state whether you are FOR or AGAINST the motion.

With enough votes FOR the motion, we can send this thread to Washington declaring it official, as WE the PEOPLE have stated it so.

So get your mom, dad, sister, brother, aunts and uncles, grandmothers and grandfathers, cousins, nieces and nephews to this post and have them vote.

We the people have the power to mold the country as we see fit. Let us not waste this liberty. Thank you in advance for your support.

It takes nine months, labor, and more labor for many years to raise a being, a being that feels pain when denied. It is an insult to all humans even the concept that a tool of wealth and power, a simple decree on a paper, is anything at all like a human being.

I also agree "corporations are NOT persons" persons/people are also registered at birth but WE the PEOPLE have to PAY TAX on food, clothing, transport, shelter, education, health insurance and almost everything we purchase however we are not given tax rebates because people are not businesses unlike corporation's/person's who write off all their expenditures. If a corporation/person can do it then individual people should be of equal standing, then the government would remove the connection between corporations & persons! Just another finite example on how the corporate lobbyist manipulates definition and government to steal from We The 99%...

I for one, agree that corporations are NOT persons, as they have not been held accountable as real flesh-and-blood human beings are.

I vote FOR the motion.

I am for OWS and all associated for gaining the legal authority to abolish corporate personhood, reform campaign finance, end the fed. I am against all actions with no authority that expose compassionate and commited people to danger and humiliation with no effect except causing ridicule for their efforts.------

To gain the needed authority DEMAND that your states legislation apply to congress for an article 5 convention to propose amendments to the constitution.

A lawsuit against all members of congress for not calling an Article 5. http://algoxy.com/poly/article_v_convention.html

You know, if the corporations lose the status of being a person, they also lose the duty of paying taxes. All of you people know that, right?

All 'businesses' pay taxes. None of them have the status of a person.

They do. Read your business law. The difference between a person and not, is that a person pays taxes. And corporations are considered persons so they pay taxes too.

I'm not quite sure I understand. I will look into business law. But maybe you can clarify something for me? It is my understanding that corporations are given the status of persons while businesses such as sole proprietorships and partnerships are not considered persons, while, under my impression, they both pay taxes. Could you please clarify where I'm going wrong here?
