Democracy is also unfair to the unborn and those unable to vote, who are automatically thrown into a society that they didn't have a say in changing.
Democracy is not just about majority rule. It is at its most basic about the rule of the people and also as much about minority rights as it is about majority rule.
Minority rights require a majority to act in a non-selfish way, which we know is impossible.
Minority rights require mutual respect and even better, real love. Where that is absent some enforcement mechanism is necessary, but since minority rights actually exist in varying degrees in actually existing cultures, the evidence is there that respect for minority rights is by no means impossible.
That strikes me as extremely premature, adventurist and fundamentally undemocratic.
Democracy does not bring about a better world. The majority can shit on the minority if they feel like it.
