Forum Post: Occupy Trump?

Has anyone in the NY #OWS or groups near large Trump properties considered a march or occupation in regards to The Donald?

Here is why Trump would be a target of protest -

1 - He lives the 1% lifestyle. He routinely uses political pull to get special sweetheart deals from governments while essentially doing little for the economy. In fact he has gone bankrupt before and somehow ended up holding all the money while investors are left holding the bag.

2 - He reacts like a 1%er. He is unable to grasp the concept that laws apply to him as well as us. Case in point, he routinely ignores building codes, and has even engaged in open harassment of those who don't bend to his will - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/scotland/8555683/Donald-Trump-angers-neighbour-after-erecting-new-boundary-fence-and-then-billing-him.html

3 - He has adopted the 1%er mantra of "A lie told enough times becomes the truth." Regardless if you like him or not, Obama is a natural born citizen. Despite clear evidence of this, to this day Trump has tried to trot out the racist birther notion. Because the truth doesn't matter, what Trump thinks matters.

4 - Trump has tried to co-opt #OWS in the media. http://www.mediaite.com/tv/donald-trump-to-greta-van-susteren-i-cherish-the-well-dressed-wall-street-protesters/ That is not cool. Plus, he spreads the lie that most #OWS occupiers are really 1%ers. Fighting words Donny!

5 - Trump is a known hot head and media whore. Taking the fight to his door is a good way to get waning media exposure to kick back up. People will pay attention when Trump Towers or Trump Port-a-potties or whatever is marched on/occupied.

6 - The man is an all round douche canoe who hates the 99%. That should be enough.

Agree? Disagree?

Trump is just another egotistical billionair. Let him have his jollies. I'm more worried about the Psycho Hag.

Interesting post.

Watching what is going on this election, with the bunch of total losers the Republicans have paraded out and watching how someone with a shred of intelligence and understanding of marketing and entertainment can come in and just totally dominate, I make this prediction:

The era of celebrity politics is here. With so much money and fame involved, its a natural tool for celebrities to use to increase their own visibility. We already see a few saying they will run in 2020.

I think that Trump has blown the lid off this thing. The system IS a total joke, Trump is manipulating that joke. And once this circus is done, the next one will be an even grander show. Gotta keep the ratings up, right?

Right now we have a president whose story should be the classic rags to riches story. Guy raised by grandma, doing coke, gets into Harvard (or was it Yale?) by some miracle, become president. Except none of that is celebrated. Was him mom CIA? All sorts of odd questions there, no one really asking them. Why? Dude is charismatic as helll. Dropping bombs and grabbing peace prizes. Shit, bombing other peace prize groups along the way too. Slick shit.

In Idiocracy, we see how insane the president is. A total nutjob. We are heading there. Its coming. And it will be received with thunderous applause.

"Fighting Trump - residents protest against Donald Trump's Golf Course in Scotland (documentary)"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADecI4xw-yg

That documentary is worth watching in full as it shows Trump's absolute disregard for anything but profit, and that includes humanity.

Great bump. Occupy has been spot on since the beginning. I like #6:

"The man is an all round douche canoe who hates the 99%. That should be enough."

The thing about Trump that strikes me the most is that though he's clearly a RWNJ, Neoliberal-Loving, Pseudo-Libertarian, Corporate Oligarch all right ... BUT he's not owned by them! For good or for worse and within the parameters of ''Never Questioning The US MIC'', he's his own man! And that means that he can (often accidently) allude to deeper truths than almost any other RWNJ-GOPher can! Consider..

The fact that he can call out all the other politicians for being bought and paid for, and explain in painfully clear detail how those conversations go, is really an eye opener for a lot of people.

That, and he's showing just how weak and pathetic our political class is. Dont get me wrong, he's a tough dude, but my goodness what a bunch of losers we put in power over us.

Trump doesn't care about The US 99% and he is a Pro-Corporation RWNJ - however, also consider ..

''In 2000, 19 months before Sept. 11, 2001, Donald Trump wrote extensively of the terrorism threat the United States was facing.

''Trump, who at the time was considering a presidential bid on the Reform Party ticket, went so far as to say that an attack on a major U.S. city was not just a probability, but an inevitability.

“I really am convinced we’re in danger of the sort of terrorist attacks that will make the bombing of the Trade Center look like kids playing with firecrackers,” wrote Trump in his 2000 book, The America We Deserve. “No sensible analyst rejects this possibility, and plenty of them, like me, are not wondering if but when it will happen.”

''Trump even mentions Osama bin Laden by name, in a criticism of an American foreign policy that too quickly jumps from one crisis to the next.

“One day we’re told that a shadowy figure with no fixed address named Osama bin-Laden is public enemy number one, and U.S. jetfighters lay waste to his camp in Afghanistan,” The Donald wrote. “He escapes back under some rock, and a few news cycles later it’s on to a new enemy and new crisis.”

Trump has gone bankrupt 7 times . He knows that the secret to bankruptcy is setting up umbrella corporations that way when one of his holdings goes bankrupt his other corporation in the umbrella gets the holdings first.Corporations are such a complete scam.

YES!!!! Occupy Trump. He has been responsible for hurting so many small businesses each of the many times he's declared bankruptcy. He never pays his bills! Go after Trump and teach him and all the sleazy real estate developers who are ruining our communities.

You are practically protesting at Trump's door. He owns 40 Wall Street.

Trump did have that awesome verbal assault against the detestable Rosie O'Donnell some years back. So, he can't be all that bad.
