If we really want to show this country how serious the Occupy movement is, we should Occupy Times Square on New Years Eve!!! There is nothing to celebrate with the economy the way it is and so many people suffering!
lol its always funny to see people who claim this movement is about socialism/communism or free loaders just wanting a free ride. The propaganda machine is definitely in full swing! Keep it up, eventually they will get tired defending their lame excuses while trying justify seeing the world from the little hole they put themselves in.
Supporters, please watch the full length film, Zeitgeist: Moving Forward on Youtube. This film details and establishes clear and articulate definitions of the common problems which we are fighting against. It then proceeds to outline a solution based approach to the movement, based on more appropriate utilization of technology. Show your friends! Spread this film! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Z9WVZddH9w
100 years from now there will still be a Wall Street and stock market.
This will be the newspaper headline in the year, 2030. "OWS Group Still Tries To Occupy Five Tents in Zuccoti Park with NO Clear Idea of What They Want in LIFE"
I think everyone is clear on what the 99 want but are unclear on how to get it:
"Call out for direction but there's no on there to steer
Shout out for salvation but there's no there to hear
Cry out supplication for the maelstrom is near
Scream out desperation but no one cares to hear"
What is OCCUPY if not a call, a shout, a cry, a scream?
I dont think it is clear. I'm not in the 1% and dont believe in the OWS 99% mission. I believe in hard work, rewards for a job well done, expect great service from people I buy something from and will pay accordingly. Russia is not communist for a reason, it doesnt work.
You seem to think that clearly the mission of OWS99% is to turn the USA into a communist country? Seriously?
I read quotes, "take from the rich and give to the poor" "equal pay for everyone" "more government less ownership" as being,,,,,, well,,,,,, communism. Seriously. That is what I read over and over again.
There are some very serious efforts to drag this movement out of the cradle. The problems facing the USA and the world are not as simple as a silly slogans but people don't know enough to express it any other way. You have to do the meta-analysis yourself. That's why I have been repeatedly pointing people to the 99% Declaration. It's not enough to scan the list of grievances and yea or neigh, and accept or reject it based on one or two objections (ie: empty slogans like equal pay). As one person said, what's on the list is irrelevant.
In my above, I was trying to highlight that it's not about the list of grievances (as per the 1stAmendment), that's not the issue right now. Anyone talking about anything like your examples or campaign finance, Citizens United, war in Afgran, enviro, student debt... all that is in the cart. This cart o crap goes nowhere without a horse! (sorry i'm a farmer)
Occupations wow kinda radical but it did get everyone's attention. The NYCGA is either idealist and foolish or infiltrated (moveOn) but no longer legitimate as far as I'm concerned. The blood of OWS99% is pooling in the hands of the NYCGA.
The National General Assembly is the team to pull this cart along. We'll work on the contents of the cart in Philly.
OWS needs to stop shouting, crying and grow up, smarten up
Please give the Declaration another close examination
