absolutely the wrong answer, the group acorn has is sold out and is a tool that is being used by the power structure to plant problems in the OWS movement. the whole thing is a underhanded attempt to tie the OWS movement to obama who has ties to the group acorn.

and i ask myself why i am even answering this?, well in hopes that you may wake up and stop believing everything you are being spoon fed by fox news.

Nooooooo, the ACORN left overs are all up in here running the show. You all think Jewish banker are running it, don't you? Well, ACORN is running the hate show and you're all starring in it.

Exactly! You're brainwashed & hypnotized into thinking what you think and don't think by your puppet masters to whom you love. So, don't buy it from me cause they're the ones selling it to you.

2 November 2010 Bertha Lewis, CEO For over 40 years ACORN has fought the good fight. From a few initial neighborhoods in Little Rock, Arkansas, we grew to become a large, active, national organization of low- and moderate-income families, mostly people of color, working together to make their communities a better place. In working together, we helped families see that they can make a difference.

I'm not sure OWS is being successfully manipulated by any organized group or set of groups, though it might be. I do think that the very nature of OWS organization, for good or ill, does tend to insulate it to some degree from manipulation by any group or set of groups, be it MoveOn on the one hand or a left sect on the other. But that insulation is by no means absolute.

While it is not there yet by any means, I think the greatest danger to OWS is not anarchist crazies, or antisocial elements that come into the encampments, or even police brutality or the cold weather. Rather I think the greatest danger to OWS is the possibility of being coopted by the Democratic Party. Which, contrary to the wet dreams of right wing trolls, has fortunately not happened yet.

Obama took more financial contributions from Wall Street than any Republican candidate. He is a political moderate, a Chicago pol who was in Wall Street's pocket from the beginning. True he got tremendous support from the liberal community, but they were hoodwinked from the beginning. He was not one of them. His sojourn as a community organizer could be characterized as a youthful excess and a very useful excursion which helped him to coopt the Democratic Party's left wing, especially they more socially active sectors of the labor movement like the SEIU and UNITE HERE. Despite there support, Obama never did a dam thing for organized labor, which partially explains its enthusiasm for OWS. Obama bailed out the banks, but hasn't done anything that could especially be characterized as being left wing, except perhaps being born half black. To say that Obama is to the left of say, the New Deal, Truman's Fair Deal, LBJ's Great Society, or even Republican Teddy Roosevelt's Square Deal is patently ridiculous. And all of this has absolutely nothing to do with the much more radical perspective of OWS which borders on the revolutionary.

Good post RedJazz4! It's a two-headed snake party system. They're all Goldman Sachs, Dem & Reps. Mitt, Bush, Obama, Barney Frank, they're all in it together.

But the OWS crowd is being manipulated by the very powers they hate and they don't even know it.

Might be some truth to it. But I think it is a minor point used by the MSM to discredit.

If ACORN morphed into something else, then it's something else, not ACORN. So what is it. More to the point, as in the previous post, the intellectual roots and the dominant political orientation of OWS is far, far to the left of whatever ACORN was and whatever it subsequently morphed into and is much more rooted in the anarcho-syndicalist intellectual tradition than in the left-labor traditions of ACORN

[-] 0 points by Sellerman (139) 13 years ago

So Obama and his leftist have taken ACORN (I'll always call those factions ACORN), the U.S. and society much further to the left than ever before. That's the point you're making. So Obama et al are success...they hate America, American business and successful white, Western-European, Christian males. It's still ACORN, AFL-CIO, SEIU, labor-leftists using 'useful idiots' to do their bidding and take rubber bullets for them.

? Can you believe what you hear on corporate television? Follow the money.

[-] 0 points by Sellerman (139) 13 years ago

I believe actions. Groups fka ACORN are doing these things. I feel sorry for the idiots on the street that are going to catch rubber bullets in the face when this deal goes violent, as it is designed to do. Make no mistake, ACORN, SEIU, AFL-CIO, all want more violence, they're asking for it. Begging for it. They love it.

[-] 1 points by RedJazz43 (2757) 13 years ago

News flash: ACORN was effectively dismantled by government defunding last year. If tendency or group could be said to "control" OWS it would probably be the anarcho-syndicalist intellectual tradition which is far, far to the left anything ACORN ever was.

[-] 0 points by Sellerman (139) 13 years ago

Another news flash: ACORN morphed names but the same players are playing & getting money from fed & state coffers.... Just so ya know...
