I had an idea to start an Occupy Christmas (Holidays). No gifts other than hand made or giving something you have to people in need. It is time to teach our children and adults for that matter that the holidays are just a capitalist's dream come true. Take your kids on an adventure, to the food bank, homeless shelter, disadvantaged school to donate coats, make fleece tie blankets for the poor, donate to your charity of choice, and if all else fails shop local at Mom and Pop shops! This will be huge as most business survive the whole year on Christmas earnings!
Support local artisans and also limit purchases by buying american made products if you can...we dont need to cripple business, but do show them what we want: jobs here, for living wages.
Boycott are great. But
First OWS would need to nominate candidates or at least endorse them. I will be the Green Party candidate in CT 4th district.
