And then we should make another color chart showing which countries are more likely to bully, influence, or imperialize other countries and economies.

After that we should compare the two charts side-by-side.

So...the US is about average compared to the rest of the world?

Lets compare 2 and 1. Two is more than one so it can buy more.

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 13 years ago

this is a comparison of the highest paid people in a country to the lowest people in the same country.
If you think it is fair an American CEO should be paid 100 times what a dishwasher makes, German and French CEOs should be paid a lot more.

I do think a CEO should be payed more than a dishwasher. The dishwasher does shit work and i've worked as dishwasher before.

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 13 years ago

ask the koch brothers about how hard they had to work to inherit their father's business?
Again, perhaps I'm not being clear -
THE GINI DATA PROVES AMERCA HAS GREAT INCOME DISPARITY
between the rich and poor - compared to most other countries.
The rich get richer and the poor get poorer -
and the rich get more powerful

THAT IS WHAT OWS IS ALL ABOUT

Well, the CEO is doing a harder job than a dishwasher. I would hope the CEO for a multinational corporation is getting paid 100 times more than a dishwasher at Denny's.

What about the people who work to create, package, and distribute our dishes and dishwashers for 10,000 times less than a CEO? Oh, never mind no one cares about slaves anymore. If we can't see them, that must mean they do not exist.

[-] -3 points by fuzzyp (302) 13 years ago

Well without the CEO, they would be without jobs. His job is to come up with the ideas. If the people that were boxing the crap came up with the ideas, then they'd be the CEO.

Based on my own past job experience, when an employee comes up with good, productive, and efficient ideas they are often seen threat to the way current system operates and are henceforth ignored and/or terminated. True story bro...

The employer may say "Well, We didn't spend millions of dollars for research and analysis just so you can do things the easy way."

And then I say: "Well, you sure wasted a lot of time and money, because obviously your system sure is a piece of shit."

[-] 2 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 13 years ago

That's right. Or they'll shit-can you and a year later, lo and behold, they're doing exactly what you suggested but will act like they thought of it.

[-] 1 points by jimmycrackerson (940) from Blackfoot, ID 13 years ago

it's sad but true...it's to my understanding that these CEO's 'worked their asses off' to get where they are now and it would be unjust to overthrow them. I Know it to be true in some cases. But when it gets to the point where people are hording wealth and weapons piled upon weapons, and then scamming/conning uninformed peoples (and making up bullshit laws to impose their will on others) to make even more money and weapons. I either want to take them down, or build a spaceship and fly away to build a better place.

[-] 2 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 13 years ago

I must agree. Option two is entirely the most desirable option, but since it's in no way possible at this time, well . . .

[-] 1 points by jimmycrackerson (940) from Blackfoot, ID 13 years ago

I hear ya : )

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 12 years ago

my experience as a worker on the lowest rung-
I came up with an idea that my boss's boss stole - and the company made a fortune on it
GREED is good - ask gordon or grover

[-] 2 points by jimmycrackerson (940) from Blackfoot, ID 12 years ago

Yeah, I hear you my friend. Hopefully these protest movements can really make an impact, and change the way the masses think in this country, and all around the world. Keep the good ideas coming, something good with show eventually.

Things are such a mess nowadays, not saying they they weren't in the past too... on one of the job applications i put in today, one of the articles i had to sign on; (along with privacy act, drug test, proof of citizenship etc...) I can't remember the exact wording, but it said something to the effect of:

"Any Ideas brought forward to such and such company or patents in which you help design are the sole property of said company and basically thanks for letting us steal your intellectual property...etc."

I guess I can't really complain though...at this point I really just need a damn job.

[-] -1 points by fuzzyp (302) 12 years ago

Good business won't do that. The idea behind more competition is that you could take those ideas to a competitor and make them more efficient.

I've never seen this happen because I've had good management so far. Just because some management is stupid doesn't mean everyone is

[-] 1 points by jimmycrackerson (940) from Blackfoot, ID 12 years ago

You're right, I'd totally love to work for who you do. But judging by the state of the nation/world, I'd say a lot of management has run it's course and needs to be upended. Many of us are only willing to stay nonviolent...but if nothing is ever going to change, then what is the point? I'm tired of waiting for shit to 'magically' happen, as if the lords of change will someday sprinkle cupcakes of justice upon the world.

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 13 years ago

Man y got there because they came up with the right parents. Many come up with BAD ideas and get millions
Look at all of the bank crooks who got millions
The deserved millions - of minutes in jail

[-] -2 points by fuzzyp (302) 12 years ago

How were their ideas bad if they made money off of it? The people that bought whatever was being sold liked the product.

And there's nothing wrong with giving your kids a head start in life.

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 12 years ago

How were their ideas bad if they made money off of it?
ask the bankers and execs who got their golden parachutes as their companies collapsed

The people that bought whatever was being sold liked the product.
WE bought the AIG crap - the ENRON crap

And there's nothing wrong with giving your kids a head start in life.
Yes - but buying a congressman to ensure that there is no estate tax is reprehensible

[-] -1 points by fuzzyp (302) 12 years ago

I'm talking about products and business in general. What would be wrong with coming up for an idea for a computer program or something?

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 12 years ago

steve jobs made $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ with what he created
most clawed and stabbed and bought their way to the top
again - enron + aig + + + + + + +

just got some REAL numbers
I say real because this compares - not just states
today, the average American CEO makes 300 times what his average employee makes
30 years ago, he made only 30 times as much
Henry ford paid his workers 3 times what comparable workers made -
because he insisted that they make enough to buy what they made. the wall stree juournal called him an "economic traitor"

[-] -1 points by fuzzyp (302) 12 years ago

You can't buy your way to the top if you start out with nothing.
