"We are essentially one of the first generations to be awake. We are one of the 1st generations to use the internet and to sort of exchange so much information back and forth with each other, we are kind of reformulating our idea of how the world works. We don't really necessarily trust our parents that brought us into this thing, we don't necessarily trust our parents parents to have a full sort of an account of what, what is really going on in this life: biologically, physically, geo-politically. We are one of the 1st generations to truly have a decent grasp of it because of our use of the internet."----Joe Rogan

Oh so true Joe.

First generation to be awake? I wonder what Mr. Rogan's ideas are regarding hubris? Every generation has had it's revolutionaries and reformers. The internet is simply the latest toy to speed communication. Speed is irrelevant if there are too many conflicting messages or if yours isn't accepted.

There is no doubt we are the first to be awake.

[-] 2 points by frovikleka (2563) from Island Heights, NJ 11 years ago

Granted, your generation awakened us, as the 60's people awakended people at that time

Our mistake was we went back to sleep, so i urge your generation to learn from that

Your generation will be getting its report card in a couple of decades

That will come as a surprise to all those that opposed big business and its influence over politicians more then a century ago.

[-] 1 points by quantumystic (1710) from Memphis, TN 11 years ago

there have been aware people but i would not call them awake.

[-] -2 points by Narley (272) 11 years ago

Ahh, youthful arrogance. Most of us went through it. Remember the “don’t trust anyone over thirty” line.

[-] 1 points by redandbluestripedpill (333) 11 years ago

Unlimited info needs unlimited knowledge for verification.

Not all information is useful, only with knowledge can its use be known.

With the written history missing the key to secrecy, it requires people outside the loop of society that created the web to know what is useful and how it works.

Cognitive infiltration.

[-] 1 points by redandbluestripedpill (333) 11 years ago

No, that is critical thinking. If ya' don't know enough history ya' can't do it.

Plllliiifffff!

Go back to kindergarten.

[-] 1 points by redandbluestripedpill (333) 11 years ago

What are your intentions here? Your answer does not show you know anything.

[-] -1 points by TheLoneWolf (-103) 11 years ago

The Internet has not awoken people, it has thrown them into a world of fantasy based on conspiracy theories. The percentage of important discussions on the Internet is nearing zero. Most talk is about chemtrails, Fema camps, aliens, 911 truth, and all kinds of other nonsense.

[-] 1 points by redandbluestripedpill (333) 11 years ago

Agreed. The Internet has mostly mislead and entertained. Because of the glut of false conspiracy theories I stated what I did about knowledge in a post in this thread.

9-11 and MKultra are the only ones needed to understand, but they are also the subjects most covered by the cognitive infiltration.

Because of the dumbing down, and the fear scholars know if verifying info proving conspiracy, social structure has been easily made more important than fact.

[-] 0 points by quantumystic (1710) from Memphis, TN 11 years ago

i think that their is more than enough evidence of the existence of aliens. unless of course you don't think ufo are extra-terrestrial in origin. in regards to 9-11 building 7 in it of it self raises so many questions it is just mind blowing. in regards to the fema camps they have most certainly been legislated a google search can show you that. now insofar as chemtrails are concerned. this is a topic that has a feeling of a more conspiratorial in nature and honestly i don't know enough about the topic other than geoengineering is possible. you can absolutely affect long term weather patterns. now if they are poisoning us who the fuck knows if that is how they are doing it. i do know every single one of us is absolutely polluted with synthetic substances and heavy metals.

[-] -1 points by TheLoneWolf (-103) 11 years ago

Facepalm. I feel bad for you man. Learn about science. You're deluded. It's dangerous to feed so much thrash to your mind.

i don't know enough about the topic other than geoengineering is possible

Facepalm. Who cares what's possible. Almost anything is possible. You should care about evidence and probabilities.

It's possible that you're an alien. Should I start a conspiracy theory stating that you are? Of course not. I should get proof first.

[-] -3 points by freemarket5555 (-182) 11 years ago

On the contrary, this is the least aware generation ever. So much internet info that is "opinion" is regarded as fact. This is huge mistake and the source of significant mis information.

This is undoubtedly the poorest read, least well rounded group of young people ever.

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Tandem cognitive infiltration.

[-] -2 points by TheLoneWolf (-103) 11 years ago

He's right. The most prominent ideas on the Internet are nonsensical conspiracy theories. People had better information in the days of serious journalism.

Tr@shy'' ?! Well, well, well - lookey here, it's the one man(ish) CONspiracy Theory himself, with a new & particularly well chosen moniker, I do believe !! As luck, destiny and coincidence would have it, I log on to send a PM & who and what should I find here once more but thee and thy twaddle, lol !!!

Bleat ; bleat ; bleat ! Some old ; same old, shame old !! ''BttG & CT'' - I wish I had time to 'Conspire' to construct a 'Bridge to the' base of your ass - from the point of my boot' !!!

As you well know when you employ your misinformation cudgels, while most of us were not watching, the term ''conspiracy theory'' has undergone an Orwellian redefinition. A “conspiracy theory” no longer means an event explained by a conspiracy. Instead, it now means any explanation, or even a fact, that is out of step with the government’s explanation and that of its media pimps and Corporate PR whores.

In other words, as truth becomes uncomfortable for government and the functionaries of its 'Ministry of Propaganda' - the truth is redefined as conspiracy theory, by which is meant an absurd and laughable explanation that we should ignore. For example, when piles of carefully researched books & released government documents and testimony of eye witnesses made it clear that Oswald was not President John F. Kennedy’s assassin (or a ''Lone Wolf'', lol), the voluminous research, government documents and verified testimony was simply dismissed as a “conspiracy theory” !

Therefore and also in other words, the truth of the event was unacceptable to the authorities and to the Ministry of Propaganda that represents the interests of authorities. In America today - and increasingly throughout the Western world, actual facts & true explanations have now been relegated to the realm of mere kookiness & only people who believe lies are socially approved and accepted as patriotic citizens or reasonable people. Well - ''fuck that for a game of soldiers'', as they say around my yard !!

Any country whose population has been trained to just accept the government’s word and to shun those who question it is a country without liberty in its future or truth in its present due to the lies in its past !!!

Finally, though you still work to assiduously undermine this forum for your corporate masters Trashy and would like OWS and this forum to fade away - as attested by your own words on numerous past occasions ... We Are Still Here !!! Did you see May Day & where were you ?!! You are an incorrigible ''Lone Wolf'' and a fkn joke, matey ! Here's some ''Conspiracy Theories'' for you :

That final link above - despite the strength of the 'Drone' link above it, is particularly fascinating to me. Alors maintenant, et toi Trashy ? Qu'est ce que tu pense ?! Et enfin :

et temet nosce ...

I told you who I was in my other comment. Not trying to hide. lol.

chemistry, physics, and engineering are all more difficult today because we know so much more today. compared to what the boomers were learning there is no comparison. they still thought electrons orbited the nucleus of an atom like planets around the sun for example. where as today we know that is not the case and use a set of complex equations to derive the probabilities of where an electron maybe at anyone time.

[-] -2 points by freemarket5555 (-182) 11 years ago

I am a baby boomer and I learned difficult chemistry and the Shrodinger equation has been around for decades.

[-] 2 points by quantumystic (1710) from Memphis, TN 11 years ago

trust me it is tougher the equation for a beam in tension, shear, and stress is far more exact today and far more intricate. this model was only invented in 1990.

[-] 0 points by quantumystic (1710) from Memphis, TN 11 years ago

you are so wrong on so many levels. for example the formulas i learn in civil engineering are many, many times more complex than what civil engineers were learning even in the early 90's not to mention the computer skills. that is just a school example. in the real world you have kids with 3 terabyte hard drives full of music, films, and books. sure not all kids are in on it but the ones who are technologically savy are much more aware than most adults. the power structures of the world have been revealed and now even the kids know about it. the only ones having a hard time with it are those out of touch in generation x and y and those who are older who are not technologically savy. the kids and those in the know, know exactly what time it is.

[-] -1 points by freemarket5555 (-182) 11 years ago

Technological skills are NOT reasoning skills. Every generation has to learn more complex info, itsa the nature of info growth. High school drop out rates are approaching 30%. Colleges have to give remedial classes to get already accpeted kids qualified for entry into high school.

In John Adams time, kids knew English, Latin, Greek, French. Their use of the language dwarfs kids today.

this is literally the least knowledgeable youth ever.

[-] 2 points by quantumystic (1710) from Memphis, TN 11 years ago

the majority of people were illiterate in john adams time. high school is terrible. college is not much better and i am a top student. our education system needs complete restructuring but it is not the kids. as i said they are smarter than ever it is the educators, the parents and especially the grandparents. they fall short.
